I survived my overnight work assignment. It went alright. I probably won't be volunteering for another overnight shift anytime soon.

Sunday was just crazy and I had the overnight shift to look forward to, so my workout didn't happen.

Today I planned to walk and it was beautiful outside. I get together with my daughter every Monday night and she suggested I wait until I get to her house to walk. The last time she suggested that, one of her children napped for an inordinately long time and the walk didn't happen. This time I was prepared. I did my strength training dvd at home and then went to her house.

I was wise to do that, because again, the toddler overslept and then was cranky when he got up. My daughter took off for the store with the baby to do some grocery shopping. Thank goodness I managed to get the toddler in a better mood and get him dressed for walking.

I loaded him in the stroller and brought along grapes and water for both of us. When I had walked almost as far as I planned to, I peeked down the street to see if my daughter was back yet. Since she wasn't, I continued to explore her neighborhood. Due to a couple strange dead end streets and the like, I walked a bit further than I intended.

Once I finally made it back home, I helped my daughter bring in groceries and then occupied the baby while she cooked. The rest of the night passed by uneventfully.

I feel a few twinges from the two activities so close together, but otherwise am just very proud of myself.

I look forward to seeing my client tomorrow. I really missed her over the long weekend. I hope she missed me too. I believe it is supposed to rain, but that is alright. I took her outside to enjoy the sun on Friday and will do so again the next time it is nice.

Thanks, ladies. My mother didn't do so well at the grandmother bit, so I really work at it. Plus, my daughter and her husband are moving 12 hours away in September so he can finish his degree. I'm trying to see as much of them as I can before they leave.
