kmunson's Journal, 06 March 2014

Today is the day my hubby sees cardiologist. I am going with him...wild horses could not keep me away. Besides I am driving him there! Maybe today is the day we get answers.
This morning our daughter let us know that one of her college teammates lost her father to cancer overnight. He had been at EVERY game this year cheering them on. He made it through the entire season. Their last game was last Sunday. My heart breaks for this freshman. She has been so strong and has given it her all.
Life is fragile...live every day like it could be your last...it just may be.

Not many answers...they put him on meds to try to control. Now he has to go in for more tests and see a different cardiologist. Hopefully we find out tomorrow when that appointment will be. His monitor test showed that he had an episode of 41 weird heartbeats in a row. That looked very scary on the printout...no wonder our family doctor was concerned when he saw that! This doctor today seemed baffled by what was happening. He called his partner who is the doctor we will see next. He was late coming into the room to talk to us because he was on the phone with his partner about my husband. Never good when you have to have a specialist call another specialist...

Yes, but two heads are better than one. I deal with lots of doctors, and I'd rather have one consult with the other than pull a random diagnosis out his wazoo. If he knows someone who can do it better, then by all means. <3 Keep me posted, lots of love and prayers for you & your husband

Thanks Yolanda...my hubby thinks Dr.'s that know when they are over their area of expertise are the bomb! He would rather they ask for help then pretend they know what they are doing. Our family doc is our family doc because when our oldest was a newborn there were some issues and he called for help instead of guessing what to do. He forever earned our respect that day! It is just frustrating that no one can tell us what is going on RIGHT NOW!!! It has been about 3 weeks since I found out he was not feeling right. I am afraid he may die before someone determines what the problem is...

Sending warm thoughts and hugs your way. Praying that you will get the answers you need. Sounds like you have some good doctors on your side.

Hopefully answers will come soon and soothe your nerves. Can't come too soon, I know. We will all be thinking of you two.

For what it's worth K, If he were in any imminent danger I believe that one of the many doctors he has seen would have sent him to the hospital immediately for intensive testing an observation. I know my two cents aren't going to buy much peace of mind lol, but know that I am thinking about you and praying daily. I understand exactly how you feel being afraid and not having any answers, doctors aren't working very quickly, its scary. You're not going to let your husband fall between the cracks in the doctors minds though, and I'm confident with a little pushing they will get to the bottom of this issue.

Thanks you all...it helps knowing that others care. He thinks everything is fine and there is nothing to worry about. He is having less episodes and that means the problem is gone in his mind. I get to worry about it for both of us I guess. Yolanda that is a good point. If he were in imminent danger all these guys should have hospitalized him.
