Sleep always helps me when im about to crack under the pressure.. So grateful you are safe at home now, this particular winter has been no joke. Lots of love and prayers for you and your hubby. Try and get some rest ((hugs))

Hang in there and just be nice to yourself. Crying really helps. I feel for you. Hugs, from me, too!

The important thing is that you weren't hurt, the rest is upsetting yes, but it could have been so much worse, you've really been lucky, not unlucky, so as hard as it is......cheer up :)

I am sooo over this winter! I am glad you were not hurt (the important fact to rember) Good for you not to eat your way through the emotions and just crying it out and going to bed. Tomorro is another day! Good luck! Laura

when it rains, it pours. A tow truck would have cost at least $100. so be blessed by the help. Do have a good cry, also. Your entitled.

Well I couldn't sleep last night. Kept reliving the moments when I was out of control. Drove 4WD vehicle today. Roads were cleared of drifts but very icy from the packed snow on the road. Couldn't even see where I had gone in the ditch because they had plowed and it covered up where I went in. Good News is I figured out where one of my human angels lives! The first older guy with his wife live in the house next to where I went in the ditch. He was awesome! Now I have to figure out a way to drop something off to him for his kindness. He didn't have to stop...the wind chill had to be 40 below zero when I went in. Yet he got out of his truck and helped me for several minutes...long enough to get frostbite. I think baking some cookies may be in my future...after we get through the funeral and birthdays...before the doctor appointment. I cried on the way to work today. Emotional release I guess finally. I am stiff from being whipped around in the car. Ibuprofen may be in my future...

PS THANKS to all of you for your support. I was so shaken by this...I am not going to allow it to consume me though... Time to move forward.

Thank God for Angels! And since I know what -40 is, yes he HAD to stop. Any of us MUST stop and help in these instances. I know you would have stopped too, even as women, maybe we can't push the car out, but we have cell phones to call for help and keep someone warm if their car stops running. I hope you had a good cry and got all that out of your system, frustration, scared and all those other nasty emotions that this weather brings out. So glad someone stopped and so glad you are fine - and thank goodness for good 4wd - I don't drive anything else.

Lynn I would have been fine in my car until help arrived. But me being me...I got out to make sure exhaust wasn't blocked with snow. So when this gentleman pulled up I was outside the car with this goofy kids plastic shovel in my hands clearing out behind the car so I could run the engine without getting carbon monoxide poisoning while I waited. Guess a 50 (almost 51) year old woman standing out there looking dumb made him feel like he had to stop. (wonder what his wife was thinking in their truck?)

Am so glad you are okay. Sounds to me like you need a Florida vacation until you have to be back for the doctor's appointments!

Instead we are heading up to the frozen shores of Lake Superior! Am I an idiot or what??? Seriously...the funeral we have to go to is at Two Harbors MN where my husband's uncle was a minister for many years. Don't plan on spending too much time up there.
