BuffyBear's Journal, 29 January 2014

You'd think if you have a couple of good days and a couple of not so good days it will average out. Right? Well, I spent a little time with the figures this morning and my fantasy math is not adding up.

Last week, I averaged 40 more calories/6 more carbs a day than my goal. And apparently that is enough to produce a stall (note flat line on weight graph). Not acceptable!

So today I am eating under goal. Need to try to bring the averages back into balance.

Rocky - I think you are beautiful too! All of us on FS are beautiful because we are learning how to love ourselves and treat our bodies right.

Ruth - I like to think I'm a "work in progress". Would like to become as focused as you.

Maybe it's just water retention if you had more salt on your not so good days?

Bren - As have you!

Doublecheese - am sure my sodium intake is not healthy. One of the many things I am trying to work on.

Buffy, I too think it's amazing how just a seemingly little variation can produce a stall! It's a very narrow fence top we walk. But I think you're doing great to go back to analysis and get it figured out. Now you know what you're dealing with and that's over half the battle!

So true... so many variables go into this stuff it is unbelievable. I noticed a minor shift in what I was doing wasn't working either. At least it wasn't working the way I thought it **should** work -- the way all the books say it ought to work. I kind of gave up on it. Maybe if I'd given it more time... but it is so hard to struggle daily for a week, only to see no tangible result. Anyway, Buffy, I think you're doing GREAT TOO. Amazing control, and work-in-progress though we all are, I think you should be proud of what you've accomplished and where you're headed. Keep smiling.

I am becoming very aware of my sodium intake after joining this site last week, and it's a focus, along with calorie reduction and my Weight Watchers point program.

Sandy - a "narrow fence top" is a great illustration - especially since my balance is not what it was when I was younger.

Rob - Who wrote those books anyway? If I took all my diet books, put them in a pile and burned them at least I'd keep warm for the night.

erwinwarrior83 - Smart move!
