Nimm's Journal, 25 December 2010

After a lot of wild fluctuations the last few days, the weight is still fluctuating, with another big drop overnight. Since I'm using the first-thing-in-the-morning as my consistent weigh-in time, I'll put in the real number, but I actually don't like the huge drops....it will fluctuate back up, and the chart will look like I'm going in the wrong direction...
Anyway, I'm surprised about the drop, since I was indulging a bit between friday and saturday night - went out to see a band and had some drinks, didn't exercise saturday morning, and had another glass of wine last night, along with some small snacking during the day, and while I was helping prepare a fruit salad for the family xmas get together...

Anyway, time for the tradition Xmas morning cardio and 2.5 hour drive, we'll see to how much temptation I yield today - although I'm not worried about it, but I probably won't exercise again this evening.
If I can go from Thanksgiving through New Years and come out 6 or 7 pounds lighter....I think I should get some sort of medal. Especially the way my in-laws do their family holidays :)

because our weight fluctuates like craaazy with the things we eat, the way we exercise and any retained water from either, i've found it a lot easier to record only the losses, but to pay attention to the gains and realize where they've come from. when did i eat and what did i eat? did i eat a lot of carbs the night before? am i drinking enough water? i dunno about you, but all of this interests me intensely. Yeah, it interests me a lot too...I just wish I had paid attention to nutrition and exercise issues earlier in life. I'm used to some fluctuations, but lately they've been enormous! It's not uncommon for the scale at the end of the day to be 3-4 pounds above where it was at the beginning. And then right back down again, and then some, the next morning. I'm assuming a lot of it is due to the fact that I drink a -lot- more water lately, but I don't see a whole lot of rhyme or reason yet. As long as the overall trend is in the right direction, though, I don't mind :)
