One week ago today I had surgery. My appetite returned about Thursday. I realize I will have to lower my calorie intake since I am not able to exercise. I am to be down for 6 weeks.....over the holidays. :/ For a week, I have had to have a cath. Today it was removed. I felt the need to celebrate. CHOCOLATE CHIPS!! I finished the bag!! I tracked it. I will need to do a little better. But for today......OK. :/ SO HATED THAT BLASTED CATH!!! I am a free woman!!!!

Hi Rose, I've been hospitalized & had surgery, etc., more times than I care to count, & yes, cath's do suck BIG TIME. I've had both knees & my right hip replaced, & now need to have left hip replaced, then I'll be "good to go", hopefully. My PC Dr. told me today to set an appt with my Ortho Surgeon for an eval of my left hip. Had my right hip replacement on AUG of 2012, then had 2 infections during which I've gained about 10 pounds. Need to get that off, + at least 10 more pounds before my left hip replacement. Not sure when that will be, but should be no problem losing at least that much before then as it usually takes awhile for surgery to be arranged. I just hope he agrees to do the surgery, given his discovery of a severely displaced vertibra in my lower spine that is basically inoperable, & will supposedly put me permanently in a wheelchair eventually. I plan to delay that happening for as long as possible, through weight loss & exercise, but right now exercise is nearly impossible due to left hip pain & instability. Sorry for so many details, but you see where I'm coming from. YOU ARE SOOOO AWESOME GAL, to have lost so much weight! I know it truly does have to become a drastic life change for weight loss to become permanent, & that's what I really need to work on. Not just dieting so I can have surgery, but losing weight SLOWLY, so I can be healthier & can exercise more to get stronger. Not to mention delaying the whole permanent wheelchair thing for as long as possible. You have been a big encouragement to me that I CAN DO THIS, & I thank you for that. Hugs, Gina
