The start of the weekend and i hope all you FS family have a great one, we have to be grateful the stifling heat has subsided, mind you all the sweating must have helped us lose weight. I might tackle the mess in the corner of my garden!

Hiya Chesty. Good to see you posting. Yep - a lot better today apart from the fact that after I managed to have a lie-in this morning (first time in many months) and was dragged out by Roco......the thunderstorm hit. Poor boy was terrified and every time a clap of thunder hit he was running back to me. Managed to make a game out of it to calm him but then the HEAVY rain hit... Thank God I bought decent waterproofs last year - best hundred quid I have ever spent as despite the near monsoon I got home dry. The good thing is that I did get some exercise and Roco now does not need a shower as the storm soaked him so well he now smells nice and fresh again. Result!! I hope the rain eases (but doubt it looking at the forecast) so I can get out in the garden and also get the long ladders out to check gutters on the house as they are overflowing so I need to see if they are blocked.... More exercise perhaps - or am I making things up now? Enjoy attacking the 'corner of your garden'...!

Chris i bet you have plenty of male grooming products that makes you feel freash, no offence to anyone. I have some stones from my corner of the garden to move ,i shall count it as weight lifting. Misty doesn't let me take her out for walks silly girl she only wants stroking and feeding. I used to have dogs when i was young very good theraphy.

Have a good weekend Chestnut 🌰 Hiya Chris, my dog Shadow is terrified of thunder too, none today here but it was bad on two consecutive nights a couple of days ago. I feel so sorry for them as they haven't got a clue what's happening.. Have a good weekend Chris 😊

Well chestnut as far as 'male grooming products' go..... I stick with Tesco all in one shampoo; Wilko cheap hair gel for when it gets longer than my usual maximum No 4 crop; Right Guard for my pits and THAT is as far as I am going on here. Actually NOTHING below the chest thank you!! If I need some after shave it is just Polo Green or an old favourite - Grey Flannel. There you have it cheapskate me in a nutshell (or case)..... Far too much information, I know.... About to check forecast and head out with Roco again - I noticed a few acres which had been in Set-Aside has been mown so we might try there for a change.

Hi Kathy - Roco doesnt like loud noises but was VERY good today considering the claps of thunder were very close and very loud. I made a game of it each time and gave plenty of praise so after a while it didnt bother him as much. He's never really been bothered by storms when we are in the house, but half way round a field - hmm!

Now chestnut - about this offer to lead me astray - oh you meant lead ROCO astray... Well he doesnt need much help. There was a pheasant sitting at the side of the path this morning, sheltering under a tree, and he was desperate to play with it. Managed to drag me over to it so he was within about six inches before it reacted. Not sure if it was sitting there asleep! Last night he nearly brought back a rabbit he chased right the way round a field - it JUST made it into a hedge and he gave a growl of disappointment - SO close!!! He loves being taken to the pub and always has paws up to the bar ready to place his order... Trouble is he NEVER buys a round. Need to teach him etiquette. We have a very good village pub here with a nice garden and log fires in the winter.... *bliss*. Chest - ANY time you fancy taking Roco for a walk he would love 5 - 8 miles across the fields with you (or anyone else he isn't fussy !!!)

Unfortunately Chris we have lots of strays in our pubs in Worthing i tend to stay out of the main thread of town centre pubs and i do know quite a few people that have been bared from Pubs(incredible i know!) I like nothing better than visiting a nice pub garden preferably with a pond with good company and walking a dog.

Well I am sorry chestnut - our village pub doesn't have a pond so you've lucked out there. lol We love walking through the village with the dog - getting a pint or two and having a meal in the garden or indoors. So relaxing. When I was running a pub several people who had been barred previously thought they could just start coming in again.... That included my ex!! It was sooo funny as the staff had refused to serve him and a few weeks later he tried again and then followed me round the pub as I was doing my rounds....carefully ignoring him til I suddenly stopped and turned - stared at him and said 'yes Gary? Is there something you want?' He mumbled something and I simply said 'you were barred previously and you know why and you know what you need to do to be allowed in again - so it's in your court'.... He had kicked off one evening and shouted a load of extremely offensive things at one or two others... He'd been told that the only way he would be allowed back in again was if he apologised to them in front of the whole pub! Funny - he just looked daggers at me and walked out and never came back in again. Oh dear!
