For the month of July I averaged a 400 cal surplus per day. That’s 2000 a day. I should’ve gained 3.5# approximately and so far I’m just under 2# gain. Of course I don’t know how accurate that is with surgery 3 days ago. Then add in dehydration from vacation, trying to increase water to make up for it, etc. I would guess I’ll stay about 121 so the 2# was a real gain. If not that’s great. If so, oh well, now I know. I’d say a 0-200 surplus over what FS and my watch say I burn is about where I need to be. Not what I was hoping for but it’s reasonable. Now if I could just get over this need to eat all day every day since surgery. I never feel really full, don’t stay satisfied for more than an hour after meals etc.

Also, a pound of muscle requires fewer calories than a pound of fat. I think it ends up being ~2500 for muscle instead of the 3500 it takes to assimilate fat mass.

Hmm I hadn’t read that. I’ll have to look into it! Somehow I doubt I built a pound or two of muscle just walking at SDC though. I think I got in 15.5 miles over 5 days is all (2 days were traveling there and home). 10 of that was SDC over two days. I noticed Thursday that my legs finally weren’t sore lol. Maybe I should reconsider adding in some cardio :/.
