Only made it 8.5 miles today. Boo. I did not consider just how hot it would get or how burned I would get with the sun beaming down on the pavement. Looking forward to a little cooler weather with fall and being able to make my ten mile road hike.

I wish I could still go for walks. I used to really love walking. Now I can't even walk half a block before I need to stop and catch my breath. I'm hoping that with my weight loss, I can get a little bit more wind in these damaged lungs. Take that 8.5 and just commit to a little further the next time. Good for you on the walking though!! I never thought I'd say I'm looking forward to a little bit cooler weather myself!! Keep up the good fight, you are doing great!!

Thank you!!! When I started walking about a year and a half ago, I could barely make it a block and a half without having to stop. I stopped a few times yesterday...once at 4.5 miles and then a few times after I had reached the 6 mile mark. The sun was just unbearable. And, my face, chest and arms are now a bright pink today. I'm normally have a fairly dark complexion. However, the err of my ways dawned on me last night. I've been taking antibiotics the last few days....which apparently is not good to mix with sun exposure.

You're right, antibiotics and sun lead to a nice burn!! If you have any white or cider vinegar, use that on your sunburn, It will take the sting out. I've always used that, and my mom used it on me when I was little and got a dose of too much sun!! Do you have anywhere to walk indoors?? I used to walk at the mall here when it got really hot, or when it was snowing. I really prefer the outdoors, but sometimes you have to compromise!! I hate using a treadmill!! I can't have one here anyway, I've got cats. The last time I had a treadmill here I had to keep an eye out that no one got underneath it or stuck on or in it while I was trying to get some exercise on it!!! I ended up giving it to my neighbor..lol!!

Nope. The closest mall is over an hour away. I prefer walking outside anyway. The natural rolling hills make an average walk very challenging. Going to try the cider vinegar for the burns. Thanks for the tip!
