One trick I've learned in the last few months is to trapse down to the grocery store near work during my Monday lunch break and buy my snacks for the week - sugar snap peas, a bag of broccoli, a bag of spinach to mix into my microwavable lunches, a couple of pints of strawberries. They're readily available, and I've no excuse to sample all the other goodies (squares, cakes, muffins) that appear in the kitchen after meetings. A couple of the other girls have taken up my example and we all go down together, find some things that we've never tried before and try them. Sometimes they're winners, sometimes they're not. I find that crunching on fresh cold veggies (LOVE the peas!) wakes me up better than a coffee and a muffin (although I still do my 3:00pm coffee!) and get me through to dinner!
