Great nights sleep last night (in fact I overslept). The temps were down and humidity very low. Just enough to need a sheet and blanket and be comfortable snuggling.

Last night after work we accomplished a lot because the cold front went through yesterday when I was at work. We got up the trellis for my cucumbers and the plants started up on it. All 14 tomato plants got cages put around them. Both of these were late in doing because of the recent heat. But they are done and my garden for the most part is looking fabulous!

Then my son took out the chain saw and cut down overgrown shrubs on two sides of my home. Now to kill the stumps and redo the landscaping. It looks bare now...but so much better my hubby and I agree on that. I think some day lilies will be planted in their place. Nothing that is going to get as large as those shrubs did. The shrubs were starting to block our main floor windows. (and you have to go up 5 steps to get to our main level of our home!) Now we can see how badly our house needs to be repainted though...but now the ladders can actually get to the house.

I wish the temps and humidity would stay like this all summer! The rest of the week it is supposed to be in the 70's and low humidity. Wonderful! Hubby has the day off tomorrow. Some serious work should be done with the temps where they are supposed to be. LOVE<LOVE>LOVE!

My DIL just dropped the kids off and she said she's sick of the rain. Me too! It's great for the garden and I picked a big bowl full of cucumbers, squash & tomatoes. But then we might need a break or I don't think I'll be able to get in the garden to pick things. Have fun planning your new landscaping! Funny, we have huge crepe myrtles in front of our home and as we were backing out to go to church Sunday I was imagining what it would look like with those cut out or just cut back. I just pinned something on Pinterest about how to prune them too! Good exercise too!

It is fun having a blank canvas! We have to find a home for some rhubarb that my hubby put on the one side of the house when it had to be moved for the septic redo. Now it needs to be moved again. I have to investigate the best time to move rhubarb I guess. Hope it is ok now...so we can progress before fall so the perennials have time to set before winter sets in.

I also should be moving lots of strawberries so they have time to set before winter. Always gardening stuff to do!
