The important thing to do when you fall off of a horse is to get back on right away. Also remember that some of what the scale show may not be true weight gain. If you were eating crappy food than you were also probably eating a lot of salt. Try to drink a whole lot of water and see if that helps to flush you out. And ignore your family, if you are going to do this than you have to do it for yourself and nobody else.

The past is the past and can't be changed. Like Fawkesmom said, if you're going to do this, it has to be for yourself and not anyone else. Did the biscuits take away your stress? What about that chocolate pie - did it fix your laptop? Will the croissants change what your family will do or say back home? No, all those foods did, ultimately, was ADD to your stress. So hop on back on plan and hit it hard! You are stronger than this. You began this journey because you were strong enough to assert that your health was important. Don't give that power away to your son or anyone else in your family. You matter and have every right to make the right choices for your life, even when life throws you a few curveballs. You've shown you can do this, so go out and do it!

dust yourself off and keep going. I was wondering where you went. And to add to what fawkesmom said, also the carbs, or glucose to be exact is holding water, so some of that gain maybe be water weight. The more carbs you eat, the more water you body retains, cut them out for a couple of days, do a strict induction and you may get that whoosh

I hate to say this but maybe you should try another way for right now just count calories and go back to atkins when you feel less stressed and have more time to be on a plan. The first 2 weeks of atkins you have to be careful so give yourself a couple weks of just calorie counting and when things settle down and you feel more in control you can start atkins with a fresh start. Yo-yoing is not good for anyone I think we can all agree on that, you will realize that calorie counting you will pay attention to carbs as well, just think of it as traing for induction.
