Well, I am just getting into this site, and hoping that "talking" to others will help me stay on track.

I lost a lot of weight, without trying, when my mom was ill with cancer. I think the worry and the sadness made my body change in a way that I couldn't keep weight on if I tried. My mom died a year ago, and now I have gained about 10 pounds (all in my thighs!). A new depression, one of marital problems, makes me add weight without trying. It is not that I am just unmotivated, although I have been that way, but it seems my body again has changed and food sticks to my thighs like never before. The "I just don't care" attitude does not help when I am feeling down.

But, I am newly motivated. Since beginning school, where I work, I have stayed on track with a South Beach type diet and walking/running or toning Mon-Fri. Weekends are a bit more challenging, since I have a lot going on with the kids. I could still walk in the morning if I want to, the kids are old enough and my husband is there. I just get lazy. I think I "deserve" the weekends off. I need to change that mentality. I'm trying.....

welcome...sounds like you know what to do...just need to make up your mind that you want it more than the time off...good luck
