I finally got to spend a weekend with my sweet heart. I had surgery two weeks ago, then he went out of town for mothers day...so we hadn't been able to see much of each other this month. He lives two hours away, so for three years we have been commuting, and its slowly coming to an end. He will be moving down here with me in a couple months, and I will be so glad when he finally gets here.

Life will be much different once he gets here. He understands and supports my decision to go raw vegan, and is even a little excited to try some things I make. I know he wont go full vegan, though...especially the extreme of raw vegan.

The first thing we did when I got into town was meet at a restaurant, where I had to challenge myself to follow a strict diet in public dinning. I ordered the Greek salad, opting for a little bit of feta cheese instead of a salad loaded with meats and fats. Then he placed his order... 5 boneless wings, and order of fried pickles (knowing I love them), and dumpster fries (potato wedges with the works of bacon, cheese, etc...). I ate half the fried pickles, one fry dipped in the cheese, and my salad. I'm convinced he is the reason I'm fat.

This week is going to be a real challenge. A co-worker smokes meat as a hobby and is bringing pulled pork tomorrow, then Wednesday is my normal cheat day, and then my boss is having a lunchtime cookout on Thursday with hot dogs and bratwurst. So I'm pretty screwed. Please give me the strength to get through this week. I am still having horrible meat cravings.

Will be holding good thoughts for you; if you want it badly enough you'll do it. If not, forgive yourself and move on.

Well, my co-worker that smokes meat didn't bring the pulled pork today, so I gladly ate my Greek salad. I made the decision to add tofu to my diet for protein reasons. I bought ALL foods that I love at the grocery store today. I found that I like fruit, but I shrug my shoulders at apples and oranges lately...so I went with my favorites- mango, watermelon, and cantaloupe! I think I am getting over my hunger pains. The tofu did the trick. Luckily I love the stuff as much as meat- not many people do. I have cut back tossing everything in oil and adding oils to multiple dishes. I realized I can blend a tomato or cucumber up for liquidity and like it just as well.
