Had a lovely day at the beach yesterday; rare for a spring day at the Oregon coast to reach 84°! I had a lovely salad for lunch; albacore tuna, crisp apple, chopped hazelnuts over greens with a delicious vinaigrette, I think it was mango with a touch of curry. Heavenly!

We had taken some See's chocolates for a treat, and they were melting in the heat. We stopped at a store to buy some ice; it was next to the Waves of Grain Bakery. I couldn't resist, went in & waited in line for a chocolate oatmeal cookie (I'd had one in the past). I managed to eat the whole thing as we drove around to different beaches! Enjoyed each bite, lol.

I took a brisk walk down to the ocean (it was Cannon Beach and the tide was well out) . I looked as I walked for a treasure to commemorate our 14th anniversary, but only found broken bits of shell. I turned to head back to the car... there on the sand in front of me was a perfect little sand dollar, less than a half inch in diameter! It now has a place of honor in our lighted glass curio.

I had a dinner of turkey jerky and kale chips while we watched our Portland Thorns earn a 2-1 win over the Washington Spirit, woo hoo! I then ate too much See's chocolate, but I enjoyed each bite. Drank lots & lots of water all day, too.

Sounds perfectly lovely!!! Will you have to bleach the sand dollar to make sure it doesn't stink up the place or is it already dead? Just checking? :)

Sounds fabulous! I had jars of rocks all over our house picked up from trips - they make (for me) much more personal memories than retail souvenirs.
