Another 500 gr down this morning, to exactly 56 kg. I am really delighted with that as I had a perfectly normal, no restrictions food day yesterday and came in at 1700 calories. When I say no restrictions, I know that in fact I did use some mental effort to avoid a mad snacking binge in the evening. But knitting in hand (physically occupied) and brain in gear (mentally aware) I just allowed myself a small bowl of ice cream and nothing else. I'd already had pide (Turkish cheese pizza), our friday evening treat with the girls, so I was full.

I just keep reminding myself that my uncontrolled snack attacks are nothing to do with being hungry; in fact I'm usually already full when I embark on one. Anyway, there were no beers in the house, and no Pringles, either, intentionally so, since avoidance starts with the shopping list. However, husband brought beers home later and offered me one, which I refused.

Today is elder daughter's 18th birthday. We have nothing special planned and no big gifts as she's already had a holiday in Italy and a long weekend in İstanbul, and also she'll be needing stuff (like a car) if she passes her exams and goes to University in the autumn. So she's having a few friends over for a barbecue at the summer house - I have my worries about noise and alcohol but you just have to trust them to be sensible, give reasonable warnings and hope for the best!

I have made her a photo album of her childhood, which I'm looking forward to giving her when she finally wakes up today.
