They say losing weight isn't hard, it's keeping it off that is the tough part. Well I say losing weight is hard as well, when I put the most effort in, I seem to end up gaining weight... perhaps my mind is soooo focused on food and calories, I end up eating far more than I should? I am going to try VERY hard to burn 600 cal each day and keep my Calorie intake at 1200. If my math serves me correctly, that puts me at a 1200 Cal deficit each day, allowing me to lose roughly 1 lb every 3 days. Seems doable, doesn't it?
Send some encouragement my way please!!! It's only 90 days, let the countdown begin!
Thanks!

That's exactly what I did and I gained weight. I was informed that I needed to eat more, but better. More protein, less fat/carbs. So now I'm trying 1600 a day and searching the fridge for protein.

Ame16, you did 1200 cals?

around 1200 for a good 3 weeks at least and gained weight but my intake was mostly carbs, than fat, then protein. I am gluten free but I eat "mostly" all natural, organic, whole foods.

I see, so you have to beef up the protein, no pun intended haha. Thanks for the advice, maybe try protein shakes - I know they can taste gross, but after a workout I can easily do I scoop (20g protein) at 85 cals. I've also heard there are some good products that come from plant sources.

I'm confused about getting too much as well because that is what guys do to build muscle. Also our bodies can only use so much at a time. Another problem is, I might eat a good source of protein and then eat a meal with mostly carbs and it lowers my daily percentage of protein over all. I probably wasn't doing enough exercise but I was hoping to lose a couple pounds first so I didn't feel so lazy. Didn't happen. The only time I ever remember losing weight was when I was going to the gym a lot. I wish I was one of those people who didn't have to! I guess some of us just have a slower metabolism.

I say try out your plan and see how it goes. Then make adjustments because everyone is different. :)

I hear you on the working out, I have been procrastinating today!! I love my gym near work, I think that's the difference. I have been trying to go everyday for an hour, but if I didn't love it as much - I would probably skip it all too often. Maybe take your iPod and go for a stroll in your neighbourhood, once you start getting your endorphins going, you'll probably get addicted to the feeling :D Good Luck!!!
