My right calf is sore and....twingey? It kept me up all night. I'm pretty sure I over extended it during pilates and then agitated it by continuing to work out for a few days without properly stretching first. Yesterday I decided to make moments throughout the day (about 4 times a day for 10 minutes) to stretch because I have flexibility problems. This stretching made it worse. Going to do the RICE method for several days and stay on top of my diet. Sucks! I'm so close to dipping below the 140's! I keep reading that doing cardio with sore calves can actually help them by increasing blood flow, oxygen and flush them out...anybody know if this is true? I'm not sure I should irritate them further.

After working out and doing yardwork over the weekend my hamstrings were very tight and sore, I soaked in an Epsom salt bath last night and that helped the soreness tremendously. I have no soreness in my right leg and very little in my left. I was able to work out this morning with no problem. You might try that and see if it helps.

I'm going to ride the stationary bike today for 40 minutes...hopefully it won't be as bad tomorrow and I can do some dance cardio. It's stopped hurting as much as it did during the night...odd.

I use something called 'Bager Balm', a line of products that are 100% organic. The one called 'Sore Muscle Rub' is my go-to thing when I'm hurting from working out. It is a little tough to find, the only place that carries it near me is 'Whole Foods'. BUT it really works! (smells nice too!)
