RubyRedSox's Journal, 20 August 2010

I'm sorry for my sporadic updates. I'm in a lot of pain, my sleeping is off and well.. so am I. Anyway, my mom is still in the hospital, she did have scabies which has been treated but she still has fluid on her lungs and swelling in one of her legs. She's confused and the docs are talking dementia which means when she leaves the hospital it'll be a nursing home the discharge nurse told me on the phone the other day. I've spoke to my neighbors around the court here, all over 65 and they also had to deal with what I'm dealing with now. My challenge is no family, no car.. and sick. DAMN! If only I wasn't sick! I HATE FIBRO!

Anyway, I have a lot of work ahead of me but most will have to wait until she's placed. This weekend I'm cleaning out her refrigerator and sorting through her freezers. Some of the frozen food has been there for ages. Her cat is mad and using mom's couch as it's litter box. I really can't deal with that.. I have no idea what I'm going to do with her all her things. She has 3 storage sheds too. I'm really at a loss but I'm hoping for help after things are set, crossing fingers....

Thank you for all your kind thoughts, prayers and words of encouragement. I really appreciate all of you!! I'm Soooo tired today.

{{{hugs}}} ~Ruby

Hi Ruby, WOWIE, you have a lot on your platter at this time, I hope in dealing with it you are kind to yourself, somehow, someway. The poor cat must be confused and poor you for the messes. This may be sensitive but could you EBay, or sell the 3 storage sheds full? It would help with the expenses for your mother to make her more comfortable and perhaps help you too? The way my husband and I have collected things over our years I don't want to leave a huge bunch of stuff they don't want or need to them but if we don't let go of our stuff before then I hope they would turn our treasure collection into some sort of profit . Just a thought, I don't know but it sounds like you have a lot to do and if you could somehow, someway, make a game of it and have fun, (I know, Im crazy Towanda) this upheaveL of your life is anything but Joy. How could these things be tackled a bit easier? I live in Sacramento, am I anywhere near to offer help? Let me know Ruby, Bless your heart and your mom. TOWANDA!!!

I'm so sorry to read about your current trials. I hope your mother gets into a good situation that is near enough for you to visit often. And stress is so bad for fibromyalgia. I hope you can take some time to take care of yourself too. Best wishes for fabulous outcomes.
