DairyKing's Journal, 15 March 2013

Here I am again - another day in paradise! It's supposed to be about 56 and sunny today; then tomorrow rainy and in the 40's. Oh well, still winter time. Back on track with my weight loss. I started getting a little too crazy with the apple fritters, doughnuts and burgers, and started losing some ground. I fasted from Sunday evening until Wednesday evening, not eating anything. Wednesday evening, I succumbed to a couple sloppy joes and some cheesy wheat thins - not exactly the cuisine recommended for breaking a fast. Oh well, 3 days isn't that long. Then I skipped breakfast and lunch yesterday, and here I am - 2 lbs. down from last week. Not exactly in keeping with the moderation concept, but I violated that concept when I overindulged. Desperate times call for desperate measures!

I'm looking forward to the weekend, even if it is supposed to rain. It's been a long week at work. Cost cutting measures have "convinced" me to absorb another division into my own - instead of backfilling the position of the leader that is moving on. It's all right though, because I basically am already familiar with what his group does. It will keep me on my toes.

I don't know what happened; I must have missed some new FS feature; now I'm starting to get an email of consolidated journal entries of all my FS Buddies. Is everyone else getting those? I like it. Now I don't miss any of what all of you bright and shining stars have to say. :)

Exercise has been on hold. Actually it's been a two-edged sword. I know I should exercise to be fit and lose weight, but I feel funny exercising if I don't eat. I know that most of us would be very surprised to find how little we require to sustain life. The RDI's are fine for weight loss, but the human body is a lot more flexible than we give it credit for. When you eat less, believe me, the body adjusts - and sustains - as many of you have found out when your weight loss comes to a dreadful stall. Oh well; a topic for another day.

Got to get back to work. Hope everyone has a wonderful day and a better weekend. Toodles!

I am not happy about you fasting for so many days especially when fasting for you means not eating anything. Yes, the human body can adjust to lots of things but you know it is not healthy for you to behave this way. You overate, OK, was wrong but now forget it and try to eat sensibly from here after. Otherwise I am going to suspect you have developed an eating disorder and send you to see a specialist. You don't want this experience, believe me. I was reviewed once and questions were do you take laxatives/throw up/fast to make up for overeating. The in patients were to be pitied and all doors and windows were locked so they couldn't run away. Be careful! You are a role model for many others and you don't want to let them down, OK? Be strong!

The notifications seem to just be the same thing that appears on the recent updates of buddies... At least its consolidated into one email every day for me I guess because I find it kind of annoying. I would like notifications of comments on my own but that's about it lol.

OK, Mom (I mean Tania) :) Haha, it doesn't hurt for 'me' to go without eating a few days - much easier to NOT eat, than to cut back sometimes. I don't have an eating disorder - except maybe that I eat too much - and not in the right order. I plan my fasts and believe me, I don't put myself in any danger. I drink plenty of fluids. If Jesus could go 40 days, 3 is not going to kill me.

I set the acct up with a junk email so I didn't get spammed, but I get the notification on top showing all the comments/journals to read (I guess??) Gonna have dreams of Apple Fritters tonight:-P
