CSmittyRun's Journal, 09 July 2008

A new day, a new start. Last night I am hoping I had my last can of soda for a while. We will see how long I can go for. I need to quit that stuff. I also was very productive around the house even though I didn't get to run cause it was pouring from before I got out of work, love south Florida. So today I am not feeling lethargic or depressed and I think it's cause I accomplished some things yesterday instead of going to sleep at 8pm.

Today I plan to:
1. Do pilates and weights
2. Drink lots of water all day
3. Not eat anything fried, lol
4. Not have a soda.

Today is July 9th and it has been 14 since my last soda, I think I'm doing pretty good so far. Not shaking yet. I need to decide on an acceptable goal for how long I can go, and then reward myself. Like a week? a month? What do you guys think?

Soda is so hard for me to give up. I just started my journey yesterday and have a lot to lose. Coca-Cola bye bye!

Soda's a toughie-- my husband goes through so much of it! I only drink about 2-3 a day at most, but I drink diet caffeine free, so it's not too bad. Have you thought of trying diet rite? It has no caffeine, no aspartame (it's made with splenda), and is generally a better option than most others-- Just a thought. Good luck on your journey!

I used to drink 3 sodas a day and when we started Weight Watchers at work up in MA, I just gave it up cold turkey (at work). I would only drink it when we went out to eat. After a while, I gave that up and just got water. Now, I don't even really like it. My darling Coke even tastes funny. Keep a giant bottle of water at your desk and just drink that instead. It isn't the same as a caffeine rush but keeps you full so you don't have room for the soda. Good Luck!

I drink Diet Coke, I don't know that I could completely cut it out! Good luck. I think a month is better than a week b/c by then your body should be over any cravings. Glad you're back!
