The Endocrinologist wants more carbs (+/- 70/meal), the Nephrologist wants <1800 calories per day and <4 ounces meat per meal. I printed a listing of all high carb foods and when Louise completed marking off what I can't have, due to the renal diet, there's nothing left. I have ran into several things to use in my situation. For example, using the same serving of Out of Hell hot sauce, in lieu of Louisiana Hot sauce, saves you 277 mg of sodium in the recipe and brings it into a acceptable range adding a little variety at least. I'm slowly finding ways to give a little taste to a otherwise bland diet.
