Mmmm why didn't I think of combining my shirataki noodles with that chicken jambalaya soup before? chopped the shirataki into spoon sized portions then nuked them to dry them out a bit then let everything heat up with the soup, and am now stuffed. And as they last me about 24 hours thats pretty much all I'll eat today.

I've been reading about these ever since your journal the other day - someone recommends ...shoot, I think the phrase was 'dry frying them' or something - rinse them in water then cooking in the skillet to get the water out? do you do that? I haven't ordered any but they're in my cart at Amazon waiting for me to push the button.

I don't find they require that much drying out tbh. But it may depend on the brand. Just remember if you buy them... The water they are packed in stinks... But once they are rinsed of they are fine. Oh and one of their names translates as 'Stomach broom' and it deserves it!

Sounds pretty good. I remember watching some BBC doco where they took 2 different groups of people and gave one group a meal as normal meal and a glass of water, and the second group got the exact same ingredients including the water as a soup. They did an ultrasound before, and at various points for the next several hours and found that the soup group had more in their stomachs for a longer period. So makes very good sense, as well as tasting great :-).
