Debinator's Journal, 16 July 2010

As I begin my preparations to go on vacation in 21 days 10 hours and 2 mins (LOL-Think I am ready for a get way?) I think of how far I have come on my journey to a healthier me. I now fit in the wetsuit that I had serious doubts about being able to get into come time to go. I am much healthier and that should add to my vacation enjoyment. Maybe I won't be huffing and puffing after lugging 60+ lbs to the boat for a dive, shoot just the fact that I can lug 60+ lbs of gear to the boat more than once at all is an accomplishment. I am in the best shape I have been in since I was in my 20's (I was an athletic gal- played softball, was lean, muscular and in great health). I am 2 pounds away from where I said I wanted to be before I left for this trip. I know I am going to get to that weight goal and beyond before I leave. Coincidentally I am scheduled to receive my Black Belt in Karate (EPAK for anyone who cares) the night before we leave. It has been a long journey, and ultimately the motivation for me to seek out a healthier lifestyle. I have changed my life in baby steps, but we all know you have to walk before you can run. I feel like I may have hit the jogging stage LOL! I can't wait to run!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

where you heading for vacation? It sounds like a much needed break!!!... and you will still be riding high from your belt promotion I am sure!!! What great timing!!!! have fun!!! and enjoy not huffing while getting your gear into the water!!!!

We are going to lovely Roatan, Honduras (said in my best tour guide voice)Its an island off the coast of Honduras in the Caribbean Sea- great for diving, snorkeling, lots of walkingand of course the lovely view to enjoy with my toes in the sand and a drink in my hand. (Yes highly caloric but I will make sure that in/out ratio is right- I may have to do some extra exercise but it will be well worth it)

Wonderful! I'm very jealous of your vacation. I need to take one of those soon. Jogging! Great idea. Jogging improved my cardiovascular health immensely

Will be taking lots of pics-Hopefully we will get to go on a dive with the dolphins!! I am so excited!! we have 5 days of diving planned and a day to do the local wildlife park thing- they have a zipline, and trails and monkeys!!! lots of monkeys!! I just love monkeys LOL
