CMR's Journal, 24 May 2019

Happy Friday, indeed.

I don't want to gloat, yet I've been telling everyone who I think would care...I am the lightest I've been since 2011!!! I'm only half disappointed its not another 4 pounds, but can I really expect that every week? Probably not. I did share some beers with my Dad on Sunday, and I noticed that my (recorded) calorie count is hovering in the lower 1,000s. I've been hungry, just too busy to eat, which has hardly ever been the case in the past. I think my body might be flirting with starvation mode. I very well may incorporate a high calorie day this weekend, and what a weekend to do it.

That said, is literally downing only a couple/few over a 54 day stretch still something to celebrate? I think so.

Humorous anecdote (or not): The assistant principal at my oldest's school took a picture of him and I at an event on Wednesday and posted it to Facebook. I don't have Facebook, but my wife showed me last night. My reaction was, "Ugh, I'm still fat," and asked her if she was going post, "Who's the wicked fat guy next to my kid?" Kidding, of course...but only a little.

I hope everyone enjoys the long weekend. I know I will.

Let's GO Red Sox... or are you a CT Yankees fan? Boo

@HCB - Ha Ha, no. I went to school in Storrs and started my career right out of college, based out of Hartford, but I am native to Central Massachusetts.

I live in Minneapolis now, but I grew up in Saugus MA when it was a quaint NE town...but not now. My family is in Newburyport, Lynn and Wakefield. Still say "Let's GO Red Sox" and my in-laws live in Liberty NY and are rabid Yankees fans. Holidays are fun!

I'll be in Minnesota in 3 weeks. My wife grew up on a dairy farm in Minomen (no one there now) and has family in Detroit Lakes, Duluth, and Minnetonka. My nephew is getting married in Fargo. I'll have a story related to it in my journal next Friday.

Wow - coincidence because we live in Minnetonka

It doesn't matter how long it takes! I realized that I had to stop putting deadlines on myself or I just set myself up for failure. It took me 3 months to drop 2.8 lbs. Being patient is always the hardest part.
