shiny50's Journal, 22 February 2019

I had lost one pound over the last two weeks. That was a victory for me since I had surgery and all that added stress. I still feel overwhelmed at times with the amount of weight I have to lose. It seems like I will never get there at this rate. But, I know from experience that my yo-yo dieting of the past contributed to me getting to almost 300 pounds. I must reach within and find patience somehow.

I have a NSV also. With about 16 pounds gone, I am noticing that I am able to move around more comfortably and have a little less shortness of breath. I know I could do something drastic and lose 40-50 pounds in a couple of months, but what would that really accomplish. I need to maintain what I am doing and endure the slow pace. I truly believe this is the only way, for me personally, to achieve and maintain a permanent weight loss and lifestyle change. I know fast loss works for some, just not for me. Happy Friday to all!

Congratulations! Like you, I'm hoping the 'slow and steady' will be the method that works this time as obviously the fast loss has never sustained.
