Glenn, you kind of remind me of my son when it comes to the women. He is 41 now and played the field a bit too long and with very young girls. NOW, he wishes he had settled down and started a family. His clock is ticking very loud, but he says he cannot find a decent woman. I told him women his age probably don't want kids or have already had them and want no more. So he is disappointed in Florida, says there are no good ones out there. I think his standards are WAY too high. He always looks for the body perfect woman instead of a nice girl with a brain, if you get my drift. If you are in the wrong community to meet eligible women, then you need to get serious about moving or you will not be happy where you are. I know you are not comfortable about up and leaving while trying to publish, but you need happiness in your life too. I think you should not converse with Mom if she brings you down and depresses you. And I can hear it in your words. Concentrate on what your goals are and avoid any more confrontations with her. I have never doubted that what you put on FS is truthful. It would serve no purpose to lie, we don't even know you, so why would you lie to strangers. It would accomplish nothing. You are a nice person and I just want you to succeed in what you strive for. Everyday will not be the greatest, it isn't for anyone. We all have hills to climb and once in a while we go downhill. Just know you must believe in yourself and "to hell" with what others think. If they don't appreciate you for who you are, move on and leave them behind. You don't need the drag. Glenn, I wish you a nice relaxing evening and stay positive, mentally and physically. Watch those drinks tho, they are murder on the calories and the waistline. :-) 

Thanks Next Number for the advice. It is just as tough for the guys out there looking and I wouldn't mind going with a woman who is really intelligent, however so many of them are SO successful they're retired at forty and will not settle for a guy like me with lower income. The available women with brains are from what I've been seeing are so financially secure - and I am living like they did in college at almost age 50, which doesn't help my situation one bit. My standards are not that high. But I WILL tell you I live in a low income place where 95% of the guys have no girlfriend. Women won't settle either and American women are the one who choose who they are going to be with. I will focus on my writing and go on the dating site occasionally. The site is basically dead though, I need to go to another one. Women are looking for someone to maintain their lifestyle/pay half the bills and I can't even pay the heat and electric on a decent house with my income. I've heard things are better in Europe, so I probably will go if I get published and am successful. I am ready to settle down but at this point not with American women - my mother claims I'm too focused on income, etc. that is because the women I'm meeting are. Thanks Next Number for the kind words. I have had opportunities to date women, but it would be sex only, these women can barely read etc. and it has gotten to the point I may start getting wild like I was when I was younger and just play it safe and have fun because that is all I have been able to find. Anyway, I will stop drinking today was another high calorie day and it has to stop. Alcohol even like four drinks is 1200 plus calories and one needs to eat too to soak up the alcohol a bit and so it ends up being a close to 3000 calorie day easy oftentimes. Have a great mid week... :)
