I’m speechless. I’m amused. I’m not really sure how someone so smart can think dieting is easy peasy.

Hubby told me today that his workout partner is ready to cut and instead of bulking so he down loaded a diet app. Yay! Right? Ummm.... his partner wants to do lower weights and higher reps as most of his cut. He also goes on and off of Keto. Hubby now has a Keto app 😳😳😳.

Alls food right? I mentioned I’d have to cook three different meals now at each meal time. A lower calorie meal for me, Keto for him and carb loaded kid friendly meal for the kids. 😖😖 So he’s totally fine with the added work for me. I casually hinted at how on weekends he can’t cook two meals so how did he plan to cook three. No comment lol.

So here’s the best part! I explained that Keto was NO carbs. He didn’t believe me and I said ‘well you can have up to 20g for true Keto but to get into ketosis it could be more or less.’ He wants to know how many carbs are in a family sized bag of chips. Thankfully he was joking... I think. Explained no bread, potatoes, rice, flour, sugar, chips etc. He eats as many carbs as protein honestly. He said it would be easy. 20g per sitting wouldn’t be that hard. LOL. 20g per day son! Veggies have carbs?? Then what can I eat? Guess I’ll just eat meat and that’s it. That’s the carnivore diet dear. Seems his workout partner must be talking him into this because he said he doesn’t ‘do diets’ but he guesses he needs to. Explained for the millionth time that a deficit is required no matter what so if he cuts out his snacks he would lose quickly and if wanting a slow loss then he could eat more at meals after cutting snacks. Nope, easy peasy Keto it is! 🤔🤣🤔🤣🤔🤣.

It’s gonna be fun at my house this weekend and next week. I wonder if his Keto app gives him meal plans or if he expects me to find Keto meal plans, buy everything then cook 6 meals a day. Breakfast is pop tarts, cereal or go hungry, their choice. You should’ve seen his face when I explained bullet coffee haha. So I’m taking bets as to how long it takes for him to get in ketosis (I have urine strips) and how long he stays on it. Oh yeah. He had a ‘small meal’ tonight and I causally said he could start tonight by skipping his evening snacking. We finished dinner at 8:30. He was in bed at 9:30 lmao. Naps a couple times a day like after kids go to school until work then lunch and again right after work yet was ‘tired’ and had to go to bed early. He does this when upset, bored or when he’s dieting. If he sleeps he can’t eat. No willpower 😳. I’m betting he respects me and my dieting after this trial! I’m still cracking up at his lack of knowledge about something he agreed to do and his expressions when I explained. I asked him to come to the kitchen so we could go over the carbs in the house. I told him my low net carb tortillas was 19g C, 13 of that was fiber so 6g net carbs. I turned around and he was gone lol. Came back to eat and hasn’t spoken to me since haha. Omg I’m laughing so hard tears are running down my face. Easy peasy my arse haha. Omg he made my day! Sry if I offended any Keto people but this is funny stuff. I don’t agree with it but know it’s super hard to do especially for a man who lives on restaurant food and gas station food several lunches a week, drinks bear and soda, eats a bag of chips every other day and a few candy bars a week plus popcorn and any other snacks in the house. The only things he eats that aren’t carbs are the main dish of meat when at home haha. His favorite food is Chinese! Loaded with fried rice and white rice covered in soy sauce. Then Mexican complete with rice and tortillas haha. Ok I won’t make fun but I’m going to have a VERY entertaining few days anyway!

Ok so I just remembered that when I started my diet he insisted on pizza twice, Mexican once and my favorite cafe once in the first week after I started. Even though we hadn’t been out to eat in a month before. Perhaps I should schedule some Chinese or pizza. Nah I’ll wait until he says it’ll be easy eating Keto out at a buffet hehe. Or not. I hated when he did that to me so I shouldn’t do it back. As long as he doesn’t lose me off 😉.

Hey maybe he can learn to eat some healthier Chinese stir fry without the rice, I would get chicken with snow peas and water chestnuts. It filled me up then I learned they can steam it rather than stir fry... just saying

I make healthier stir fry at home using a small amount of olive oil. I’m talking like ken table spoon per large skillet that will be two full meals for my family of five. He doesn’t like mine. Not enough ‘flavor’ meaning not enough oil, salt and sauces. He eats about 2 cups of rice per plate! So it’s going to be hard for him to just switch to Keto overnight but he says it’ll be easy and thinks it’s been easy on me to cut my portions on half and cut out 80% of the junk I used to eat. It’s still hard some days but he thinks I’m a wimp lol. I dare him to stick to 4 pieces of pizza and he stops at 10! But he is a big guy at 6’ and he lifts weights and has a lot of muscle under his padding so he does need a lot more food than I do. He eats 3 times what I do easily. I’ll suggest it to him and see what he says! I sent him some Keto sites and plan on finding some recipes he may like. He also loves fish but says I can’t cook it to his liking. He may be cooking his own meals for awhile 😉.
