I think I have to plan for my TOM again. Ever since I got my tubes tied at 30, I do not keep track. No need....not going to get prego! LOL But I have such a spike of food desire around TOM. I think I need to know if it is coming around the bend so I can mentally prepare and/or work some salt/sugar into my RDI. We shall see how next month goes!

Hormones rule us at times. Being aware sounds like a great plan. Have a happy day! Hey checkout my journal from yesterday and see photo of two of my cat babies! LOL

My TOM has been really changing for the worse this past year and especially in the past few months with all this perimenopause nonsense building momentum. I am with you on the need to mentally prepare and to prepare for the cravings. Men think we are nuts. They have NO idea! Good luck!

I was actually pretty relieved to find out that TOM= 3 lb gain. It makes the gain less discouraging because I know it is not permanent.

I think that's a great plan - no fun to be blindsided by cravings!!

Awareness is the key. I agree with HCB... be prepared. I started planning my menu for the whole day. Don't have to think and just eat what I planned. It helps. I started over last week and so far so good. You can do this!

The mood swings with my TOM have ben getting more severe as I loose weight. I'm on a regular dose BC pill to keep TOM regulated. Anyway, I was in to see my Doctor last week and I mentioned I was feeling a little more moody and the TOM symptoms have been a little more unbalanced than usual. She said it is probably due to the fact that I've lost a lot of weight/fat. Long story short: hormones like to hang out in fat cells. Less fat - no place for them to hide. Thus the more severe the mood swings cause they're all now just floating around in your body. Anyway, she changed me to a lower dose BC pill to see if that will help. Who knew??

Wow. That is really interesting tmhiggins. I am not on BC since I got my tubes tied but that would explain me falling apart AT WORK. I cried for an hour AT WORK! Still amazed at how upset I was. Moped all night and then the next day - happy as, well Idk....I guess me! It was overcast and slightly rainy so I was extra happy. That would explain the depressive-manic moment. LOL
