I know it's a short week for me but can't the weekend come faster? I'm ready for the weekend, I just wish we weren't having people over so I could relax. Oh well, at least the kids will be busy.
I didn't get my workout in this morning because I was up too late. I'm going to try to get it in this evening before dinner since it's only about 40 mins. My hubby may not like that, but I need to do it.
Well, our week of cheap, unhealthy eating is almost over. I'm trying to use up some of those things that were in the frige and freezer, like a can of cinnamon rolls, eggs, pizza, ground beef that needs used, etc. So, hopefully after this week I can find some healthier options for dinner. I've been making sure we have a fruit and/or vegetables almost every evening with dinner and the kids love the fruit. My hubby hardly ever takes either, but at least the kids and I are getting some servings in. I just need to look up some more dinner recipes that I can make next week that won't kill me calorie-wise, but that the family will eat. They all hate onions, peppers, mushrooms, and most veggies with taste, so it's a hard task. Wish me luck!

Home made pasta sauce (so you can control sugar, etc. All I put in is ground pork for a meat. Against all I was taught but cheap, easy and kids love it) is a easy way to sneak in the veggies and if you can get them to eat something like wacky mac BONUS! Getting the kids to eat veggies it tough but luckily they like baby carrots for they are served raw on the side most nights. My daughter likes to dip them (or cucumbers) in hummus or taztiki. They will eat broccoli but I have to pony up the extra cash for the florets only and they must have parm cheese on it lol. I don't let them drownd their veggies but do what I have to. Baked sweet potato fries have replaced tater tots and my son has started eating grilled sweet peppers if it's with chicken or beef kabobs. Both will do corn of course.

My kids don't like much for vegetables. The only things they'll eat without me making them is corn and cuccumbers. I have to make them eat peas and green beans. They refuse to eat broccoli, asparagus, cooked carrots, and pretty much anything else. My son wll eat raw carrots, sometimes. I've tried sweet potato fries and the kids hate them, so I don't know what to do with these kids. Meats I don't have an issue with and most fruits they like, but it's the darn veggies!

Oh the only one they eat on their own is corn (and my daughter cucs) lol. I just tell them, no veggies means no snack or dessert and stick to it. I don't make them eat a lot and figure some is better than nothing but still a decent serving (like 4 baby carrots for her and 6 for him). We have fruit maybe once a week instead since I have no prob with that for snacks but there is a veggie almost every dinner. Like I said for carrots raw sweet baby carrots only which is fine by me. Healthier and I like them better raw too. Basicly I try and meet them half way and tell them as long as there are 3 that we rotate,(plus I let them have cheese or a low cal dip) I won't make them eat ones they hate like peas or lima beans like my mom did! They are not wo the point that my son doesn't fight and the 4 year old has her rougher nights but if I threaten her dessert she gives in.
