some where "in" today, while having a fabulous day - the sun was out, I was feeling wonderful about being me and being healthy. I suddenly felt inadequate, fat, not skinny enough and that being me wasn't as great as it had originally looked. that if only my hair was blonder, my body frame thinner, my face more "model-ee" looking, that I would some how be more desirable.
therefore happier.
looking back at those thoughts now, it appears as though i made a break through. i'm not sure what it all means just yet
but i am thinking that i am making progress because it's looking good to be me again. i had to cry for 20 minutes to get to this point and talk myself out of a cigarette but after a good nights sleep i have a feeling it will be better.
am i alone in this?

A wise person once told me that our body image is not what we see in the mirror. Our true body image is the REACTION to what we see when we look in the mirror. When I get down in the dumps and start to receive all the same negative messages, I often go back and read a quote from Nelson Mandela in 1994... Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God, your playing small doesn't serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't be insecure around you. We were born to mainfest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fears, our presence automatically liberates others. Read it carefully - read it slowly - take in everything that is saying to you. Then go get on your treadmill and have an amazing week!
