Find the graph by Volek and Phinney from their book on ketogenics. Graph at 3.7 shows you are in starvation ketosis. If the number keeps moving North (like 4 to 5 to 6) over time you could have low functioning kidneys(potential disease), low functioning pancreas(compromised due to insulin resistance), late stage type 2 diabetes, early onset (I think) type 1 diabetes. As or if the number climbs you can move toward ketoacidosis which is no bueno/not good/really really bad. Optimal 'nutritional ketosis' range in their book is 1.5 to 3 using a blood reading like you have above. You can find the chart online, the book is out of print but you can pickup a copy fairly cheap on the interwebz. You probably, and hopefully, get a lower reading soon. I'm not a medical expert just some dude who reads and asks questions when reviewing diet/exercise/ and the wonderful ways people mistake reading an article or book as truth.
