Asarver's Journal, 20 July 2012

So I took some "before" pictures today, and if no one I ever knew could see me, I'd post them...but I'm a very scared person! haha

In other news, I've felt like this has been a very bad week. I've been staying in my calorie range, but I've just been eating some of the worst food. The even worse part about that is I feel awful afterwards. Am I ever going to be ok with eating a piece of candy or a piece of pizza every once in awhile? Or maybe I'm feeling awful because I've been over-indulging this week. Can I have some advice?

My biggest worry is that my boyfriend comes to visit me in a week and a half, and I really wanted to be at my mini-goal when he got here. The week before last was a bad week for weight loss, and I feel like this week might be too. We're going out to eat on our anniversary, and it's a very fancy place, a fondu restaurant called the melting pot, and I know the food is going to be high in calories. And I want to be able to have desert then too because it's a special day. Any suggestions to get through this would be awesome! (:

On the plus side, I walked for 30 minutes today, and did a work out video. I'm weighing myself tomorrow morning, so I wanted to make sure I burnt a little more calories today than usual! haha

Diets don't work. Changing the way you live and eat does. If you allow yourself the occasional indulgence you're going to be fine. The little pleasures once in a while make life worth living and help you eating what you should the other 99+% of your life. Advice given by my doctor is have a piece of pizza but skip eating the WHOLE pizza. We went out to dairy queen last night. I had a small sundae. Much better than in years past where I'd go for the large then finish the kids' blizzard. It's all a matter of being in control of yourself and letting yourself have the occasional treat.

Yeah, I know you're right. But I just can't get over that guilty feeling when I do indulge, but I've been indulging past the limit I think. One piece of candy, or pizza every once in awhile doesn't hurt, but I think I repress myself for so long that I go all out when I do have junk food. That'll be the hardest part of eating better!
