I had my 3 month post-op appt on Friday (25th). I'm down 45% of my excess body weight. The doctors were really pleased. Average weight loss in 3 months time from roux-en-y is 30 - 33% so I've surpassed that by about 50% I'm no longer "morbidly" obese, though I am still obese. My bmi is down to 36 from 42. So I am doing good. The only bad news is that I am anemic. The bariatric doctor wants me to continue supplementing as I have been as she thinks it's just from the surgery. I go back in August and they'll check my labs then and see if I need infusions or something else to get my iron back up. On the other hand, my primary care doctor wants me to take 13 times the dose I've been taking which I think could be toxic. (375mg twice a day) So I went with a middle ground, and I'm taking 108mg a day. That's double the original dose. We'll see how it goes. I am off all my pre-op meds except for my anti-depressant. No more high blood pressure, no more high cholesterol and no more diabetes 2. I am pretty happy about this. Anyway, wanted to document this for the future. Only 5 lbs from "onederland" now =)
