CJT1217's Journal, 09 July 2012

No weigh-in today. Got in at 3am (totally worth it for a work night) and had to get up at 515. Unfortunately my pillow somehow ended up on top of my phone which is my alarm. Needless to say, I wake up, look at my window and wonder why it's so bright. "OH FUCK!" immediately leaves my mouth, I check the time to see 0650 on my phone screen and bolt into action. Work is 0700 and I live 30 mins away, mind you. So I go into military mode, I'm fully showered and ready in 13 minutes and in the car on the way to work! And then spend 20 minutes in line at the gate. Damn.

But I still have a smile on my face. It was the best weekend I've had in a while despite having 14 hours of sleep since friday, working both saturday and sunday, and eating all sorts of bad foods (vino, brownie cookies, m&m shortbread cookies, and ice cream) last night!. When things get a little crazy, it's all about the company and the locale. Mmm hmmmm...

LOL... gotta love drill weekends right? I live and work 10 miles from the guard base that most of my friends go to from central NY. Those weekends are always fun get togethers, even with the work involved for them!

13 minutes.. that's like a world record for getting showered and ready.. pretty impressive! Glad you enjoyed your weekend and didn't let a late start ruin your Monday.. :)

Heck ya, it's fun when we all get together! It can be hard work, but we tend to play just as hard off hours (same group as in my Chicago trip). I started off in maintenance when I enlisted, but crosstrained into optometry. I'm part of the physical exams process to ensure our troops in the wing are visually prepared for deployment. It's nonstop, but that makes the day go fast. 13 minutes! I couldnt believe that either, I even shaved properly! And yes, I got squeaky clean!

I'm a chick and have been known to pull that off before including basic makeup! Amazing what being late for work will make you do. My main group of buddy's here all deployed beginning of Feb and we are def missing them.

Clifford did you get your make-up applied before work? Just a little rouge and mascara can make all the difference!

Absolutely with you on the mascara - although I'm more partial to bronzer than rouge.. I bet Clifford uses both..

I don't need that crap, I have naturally thick eyelashes hahah. A bit of concealer for my dark circles would be helpful tho. All things considered, I don't look all that worse for wear. I'll even get in a workout or two before I catch up on my ZZzzss! <<Beast-Mode: ACTIVATE>> RAWR! A chick getting ready in under 15 minutes? Why do I not believe you, Thynes? :P

oh it can be done! if my face isn't broken out and my hair isn't disgusting I can be out the door in 15. Full shower, makeup etc takes 40 or so.

OMG - I also CAN get in and out of a shower, dressed and out in under 15 minutes - with make-up and hair sort of curled! Ya gotta do what ya gotta do when it's late!

Wow, I'm impressed with you guys!

Ok, I agree - if it doesn't have to involve showering, then I can be ready to go in under 15.. but if I have to take a shower, then I have to at least partially dry my hair, so that will be at least 25 minutes. Generally speaking, if I'm doing a full "getting ready", I plan for an hour.. I've got too much dang hair to dry/straighten.. I'm thinking a military cut would really cut down on my getting ready time!!

I knew it. You tricksters. haha! My process this morning: peed, shaved (no time for shaving creme!), shower on, hopped in, brushed my teeth, scrubbed my face, shampoo in, soap soap soap, rinse, dry, clothed up, fixed hair, grabbed lunch from the fridge, out the door! Whew!

Can shower and make it work as long as I don't wash my hair... and even then that's what a "ballet bun" is for... as in this am lol!! That includes shaving and curling my hair!

OK - now - you said a chic getting ready in under 15 minutes is a shock - when it is to go to work - who cares? If it were for a "date night" - that is a different story! Lotion, perfume, extra hair and make-up stuff can take a while, but I'll tell you I wait for my husband more often than he waits for me! NO - not because he is GQ or primping, because he is disorganized! Oh where is my phone? Where are the keys? I forgot to feed the cats...blah blah blah

I'd have to agree 13min is impressive. I hate it when that moment of panic sets in realizing you slept through your alarm.

I don't mind waiting around when a lady is taking her time getting ready to look good. Although my ex would take 2 hours. Ugh. I don't know how some women have the patience for that. Sheesh.

Oh don't get me wrong....when I care it's about 45 to an hour :-)
