Finally went to a Dr on Oct 20th to get on an eating program with a prescribed appetite suppressant. That has been the only thing in the past that helps to curb my cravings and keep me on a regimented program.
The Ketosis diet was effective as long as you stay on the strict program calculating calories as well as fat and not eat too much protein. I found my food selection was extremely limited and can you believe it?!?!... I got sick of eating BACON!!!!
So now I have been on the generic form of Adipex with the help of my Dr. to monitor my blood pressure and cholesterol since I take medication for them too. I have about 40lbs to lose and hope once they are off of me, my BP and LCL will go down as well. Talk about a vicious cycle.
Being vertically challenged (5'0") does not allow me to eat many calories without packing on the lbs. My Dr has me on a 1000 calorie/day. Being on the Ketosis diet prior has helped me eliminate a lot of the processed sugars, and starches I would normally crave... so that's a good jump start.
From Oct 20th to today Oct 25th (5days), I have lost 4lbs! I know that is mostly water but it still is encouraging to see the numbers go down every morning. I go back to the Dr on Nov4th for a follow up, so will update then.

Dr visit on Fri was great! My weigh in was 158, so officially lost 4-lbs. They also measure the bodies %fat to %non fat and water%. My blood work came back from my initial appointment and mostly normal but Triglycerides were high. Also, liver test showed elevated levels which is concerning since I have maybe two glasses of wine per week. Dr said it could be from Cholesterol meds since I'm on the highest dose prescribed - Lipitor 80mg. I want to get off them so bad and hope lowering to a healthy weight will do it. BP was really good. Go back in a month...
