I have a Garmin watch and my Fitbit has moved to my pocket. I keep the Fitbit because here and there, a friend will throw out a step challenge to me and / or a group and I will accept it. I use the Garmin because I like the fact that you can program a jog walk interval session, it controls the music on my phone and I can also choose to answer calls on it without even touching my phone if I have my bluetooth headset on. There is a bit of back and for regarding the accuracy of activity trackers but for me personally, I've found that I walk, jog, run more with these devices on. That's my 2 cents.

If you want something simple and you have an iPhone, there is an app already on it. White icon with a pink heart, says Health. Tracks steps, distance, activities etc

I have the 2015 vivoactive. Walk, Run, Swim, Golf are trackable activities with icons on the face as well as your regular steps. The 2016 model has a built in HR monitor but my phone has a HR sensor built in.
