Well, happy Saturday to our FatSecret community! I always believe the weekend is the most dangerous dieting time. We generally, plan to go out to eat. I will be celebrating new lows, which naturally could be fleeting. We had a band practice yesterday, and I felt quicker, and faster playing my drums. I was kind of shocked. I need to practice every day. My knee is still sore though. Have a wonderful weekend! Try to keep the diet faith! lol

Warren's Diet Tip of the Day: Those condiments that add lots of flavor to food, like Ketchup, BarBQ Sauce, Low-fat Salad Dressings, are an enemy. Replace the latter with olive oil and vinegar, or choose the full fat version. The others should be reduced as much as possible. Phase them out if you can.

Good morning and enjoy your weekend. I love your tips! We used to eat out on weekends, but I found I had more time to cook on weekends and do food prep so now it seems we tend to eat out mid-week or on a night I can't bear to cook! Have a good day!

Hey Warren, still hoping that your knee comes around. Thanks for the tips, when I use condiments it is conscious choice and I make sure to log them, that way there are no invisible calories entering the system and I'm fully aware of the "taste gain" cost. Often, I'll switch salad dressing just because the taste enjoyment is the same and one is half the calories than the other.

You're better than me, Steven! I haven't even thought to log all that extra Ketchup I have been putting on. I just got the info out of the diet book. lol I am learning this along with everyone else.

Your so right about the condiments, try giving them up one at a time. I don't even miss catsup anymore but haven't been able to give up mayo. Hope your knee is better soon.

Also, another hint; measure foods & condiments until you can accurately eyeball what a tablespoon, teaspoon, 1/4 cup, 1 oz., 30 gm, etc is really helps. You'll be surprised how much and also how little some of these measurements actually are. When I'm making an omelet, I often add 1 tablespoon of Hormel crumbled bacon bits which is 25 calories, love the flavour it adds and easily worth the calories.

Finally Warren, just like Bunny above, I now always plan ahead when eating out by all or at least one of the following; reduce calories through the day, add an extra fat burning workout, pre planning what I'm ordering (probably most important)...there are even items at our favorite restaurant that I will never order again after seeing how many calories and/or carbs & sodium are in them...just not worth it compared to other items that I like just as much..

That's great advice, Steven! I wish I could workout more with this knee, but I have to be careful. My attorney friend, who I helped after his surgery, found me a good orthopedist to give me an MRI. Finding good doctors here in LA is part of his job. So I'm pretty happy, but my prostate biopsy is coming up.

Weekends are easy for me too tired to cook.
