"Awe, I am sorry!:{ I believe that most of us on here have hit a plateau at time or another while dieting. I did for 6.5 weeks. It was indeed frustrating! I then refused to give up though. I changed my exercise to swimming and hr. every other day. I also curved my calorie count to(about) 900 Cals. When I got hungry, I would used a teaspoon of Peanut butter to coat my stomach. This made me feel full. Slowly I lost my appetite, and I dropped the weight. My way worked for me. (Not a recommendation.) Yes I ate healthy too. This little pill that I found (I believe on the Dr. Oz show?) really helped me. It is called C.L.A. This pill really help me drop the weight. I hope this helps you? You will be in my F.S. prayers!:)" God Bless~Ann

Your doctor is an idiot! I'm following Atkins. It's working for me. Drink lots of water. Plan meals around vegetables. Log everything you eat. I cut calories and carbs to get my weight loss started again and cut out night time snacking. No eating 2 hours before sleeping as well. Find what works for you and be kind to yourself! Voice gratitude for any good thing...flowers, good coffee, birds tweeting.... It begets more gratitude and good energy. Be well.

Embrace it??? Nooooooooooo.......accept that's where you are right now and then change it!! If I miss read your post saying that you're "aching from lack of gym time" then just ignore me telling you to get moving. Get back to the gym. Even if your weight doesn't change at first you'll start to feel better all over. Better to have your body ache from working out then aching from doing nothing. (trust me I know!) As for the eating sometimes it is just good to start w/the basic again. Do fitness pal or get a good calorie book and start counting. Remember to track carbs and sugar (both my downfall's) Age has nothing to do with it, makes it harder but it does not mean that your stuck where you are. No way!

Change doctors! And get some cheap free weights and workout at home so you can be more consistent (and save on gym fees!). Then you just have to kick-start the cycle: more exercise = improved mood + improved sleep = more motivated to exercise...

My thought exactly, change doctors he /she should be thrilled you want to lose weight and be healthy, less medical problems that way. You may want to try a different workout routine and diet. You can do it. Good luck to you.

Your doctor is an a**. Most doctors want you to lose weight. Change up your routine and find what works for you.

When I first started I weighed 280. My doctor and I didn't even touch the subject of goal weight. He just wanted me to lose weight. When I got down to about 230 or so that's when he started asking me where I wanted to end up. What was my goal? For him, he said that if I lost another 50 pounds he would be happy. That would have put me at 180. But then I told him that my goal was 150. And my doctor fully supported that goal. He told me that there was no way I was ever going to weigh what the BMI charts said I should. Which according to the "official" charts I'm supposed to weigh between 110 and 136. He told me because of my age, I'm 38, and the fact that I had a child I would never get down to that weight. And I was fine with that. Don't go with the chart, make your goal to be healthy. Your doctor may have a point. I'm at 145 and according to the BMI chart I'm still overweight. But like I said my doctor is very happy with me. At this point in my life I'm healthier now then I ever have been.

Hang in there. Remember that you are doing this for yourself. Maybe you should try some supplements. I have been doing Weight Watcher's since May 11, 2015. And my weight loss has been slow, considering I have stuck to the plan and been exercising regularly. About a week ago I started taking a B Complex complete, and this week I lost 2.8 lbs. Also, every night I take 2 tbsp of fiber in a glass of water. I use the trader Joe's brand. And I agree, you need a new Dr. He should be encouraging you and advising you.

My suggestion is...start keeping a journal of the foods you put in your mouth. Find out what is the right values for you hight, weight and the amounts you wish to lose. Record and compare everyday! Oh yea drink lots of water...you can do this right here on FS.

What doctor in this time recommends embracing you being overweight?!?! Now a day's they will quickly tell someone they obese...i hate doctor's because all they want is a damn paycheck and not give the right assistance anymore😕 get more fruits and veggies into your diet with lots of protein and water. Water is the key...
