Good Morning FS Warriors! 84 Hour fast complete! I am astounded that I had this loss after the whoosh last week! I did do a 20 minute high speed bike ride, usually I mosey along at 18 MPH, I took it up to 25....for me that is high speed, I was panting and puffing when I was done. Then I did my mobility workout, around 40 minutes, I'm feeling it today...in a good way. Other than my butt being sore from the seat...why can't our callouses stay put when we don't ride a bike for a while? I had said I was going to drop my water back to 90oz, but I kept it at about 110 and made sure I was getting my electrolytes in and I had my usual tummy grumbles day 1, way down on day 2 and gone completely by day 3. I still have not broken my fast....I'm simply not hungry, but I will do it by 10. I did do a couple of things recommended by my fasting app for a fast-friendly way to increase the thermogenic effects. One was adding a teaspoon of cinnamon to my coffee, so I did a half a teaspoon in each cup. The other was a cold shower first thing in the morning. OMG! I thought I was going to DIE!! But seriously...afterwards, I was highly alert and WANTING to MOVE to warm up. Hence the high speed bike ride and the workout. The big difference was, I wanted to do it...I did not have to make myself do it. Amazing! Don't do it if you have a weak heart...when that ice cold water slams into you....all the air goes out of your lungs and the first thing you want to do is jump out...LMAO...I made myself stay put, I have never washed myself so fast in my life!!!! Out in 5 minutes! It seems to have been effective though, after the workout I was hot and I remained that way most of the day. Pretty COOL experiment...pun intended! I got to go eat some food! You guys have a FAST-tastic day!

Liv, there was an extreme amount of cussing going on while I was in the shower!!! I had to put 5 bucks in the cuss bank! 😜

There was also a scream when the water hit...then I ran out of air! LMAO, I should have recorded it...sound only....I'm sure it was hysterical!

Just FYI, my water temp was reading 34 degrees, our tank is outside and the sun was not up and it was 31 degrees outside temp....brrrrrr is the correct term, but I called it something else!

You are doing awesome!! I hate snow and ice and sleet and winter mix and freezing rain. So no cold showers for me.

Yeah I tried that one going to cold AFTER a warm shower was done and same here. It knocked the breath out of me. It was horrible for the 30 seconds I made myself endure it. So I'm amazed you did your whole shower that way! And good job on the water fast.

Wow, I admire your fast AND the cold shower. I don't even like ice on an injury, etc. so I congratulate you! Since I do have heart problems I won't castigate myself for not wanting to try it. I did turn on the cold water at the end of a hot shower a couple of times, years ago but our cold in Los Angeles in not the COLD of your area. Yours is like ice diving. I'm so glad you can bike ride. I missed that pleasure.

🙌 wow that’s a long fast!! What did you break it with? How did you feel after that first meal afterwards? I just took walk outside in 15 degree weather. That’s a good cold exposure experience!

LOL Christine, I do that fast once a week, I break it with a protein fiber shake, followed by high protein/high fat fish with a hard boiled egg or two...depends on how hungry I am, today it was followed by a can of Mediterranean Sardines....I was not really hungry. Dinner is beef pot roast, black beans and 1/2 cup of brown rice. I try to keep carbs low glycemic, keep the protein high and fat moderate. LOL Snow, I was gonna say...kids..don't try this at home, but kids would think it was fun! Thanks guys for the support, I'm feeling pretty groovy right now, waiting for the rice to get done...meat is in the crockpot and smelling wonderful and I'm actually hungry and ready to eat!

Oh my Debra you are brave! My hubs will take ice baths after heavy workouts or when he has a deep tissue injury and stay in there for 20+ minutes. He has tried and tried to get me to join him. No thank you!

Cool beans Valcury! I think we did a five day fast in July, I have not done and extended one since then, but I used to do ADF and in June I switched it up and have been doing my ADF back to back, which turns into an 84 hour fast, so I fast three days and 12 hours, then eat high protein/ moderate fat, low carb for 3 days and 12 hours, it seems to be working for me. Glad you got rid of your migraine, I think if I had one for that long I would have been hunting for a way to cut off my head! YOH, it's quite invigorating and really motivates you to move, IDK about soaking in an ice bath for 20 minutes, I had a hand injury once that had me soaking my hand in ice water for 15 minutes....it was great for pain, I could not feel my hand at all when I took it out of the ice water! The injury healed quickly and after that I never punched any more walls!! That was back before hubby quit drinking....I had issues!!!!

Wow, I lost 14.5 pounds in 15 days, there is no way that is fat loss, not all of it anyway, I had a lot more water on me than I thought, 6 of those pounds could be fat, the rest has to be water!!! But I will take it anyway because I feel so much better!

Cold shower scares me, lol. Once when I was young did do sauna in Austria, and then plunged in 35/40F water tank, guess that’s how they do it there but it seems heart skips a bit 😀😀

the high you get from a fast is real lol. the first day and a half is rough, but afterwards you feel so alive.

Ergi, so true! I have to watch myself because day 3 I feel so good and I want it to continue, but I am trying to also keep my body in nutrients, so I have to make myself break my fast. First meal of the day I am not really hungry for, but after the breaking of the fast....by dinner I am ready to eat
