nicholaix's Journal, 16 April 2015

I haven't eaten much since the shock of the new scale numbers lol. I was saying(whining loudly) to a friend of mine about my bodyfat% number and she said 'not surprising, you haven't done crap for weight lifting all winter". She may have called me Doughgirl, too, I was tuning her out at that point. Don't have people in the fitness industry for friends....
Doh! Time to get back to lifting.

Good loss! I can't believe your friend called you "dough girl" !!!! You are no such thing!!!! Keep up your motivation! High protein and lifting is good, though!

Beyond the obvious weight loss benefits, your body will appreciate your weight training as you get older. I understand the difficulty in making the time to do it when you are so overwhelmed with work, family, school, etc. though. I am in the same boat right now, so I just do what I can when I can and hope to do more after June 9th...when my long-term sub job is over.

Keep on keeping on!!! I have learned when folks resort to "name calling" it NEVER motivates us in any way. Have also learned sometimes there is "grain" or "nugget" of truth in the comment of insensitive people, EVEN when they OVER-STATE their case. Continuing success to you in ALL of your efforts. You have accomplished a LOT already...and that will be the foundation for meeting NEW goals. :)

I also need to get back to it--was being good then ended up sick.. time to re-group and get at it. Will get some in tomorrow, buying mulch and bags of dirt while it's on sale before it starts raining again. Do NOT like soggy bags of stuff in the back of my jeep.

Nice little loss, and strength training does help with everything all around and you could always do yoga for strength training too. For me to find time that is why I get up at 4am to do my workout or I would never get it done. Do you want some cheese with that whine, hahahaha

Those damn body fat scales. It threw me for a loop when I got mine last week, I was expecting a lower fat percentage based on caliper measurements. At least it gives a good way to track progress from here out, I'm trying to view it as an incentive to get that number down. Doing some reading today and it seems lifting/resistance training is key to doing it. You'll git er done.

Guess that is why I don't have friends in the fitness industry:) You are doing wonderfully and once your plate is less full, you will find time to get to doing things for yourself. You have had a very challenging couple of months with your little ones. And you are really beating that new scale up!!!! Good for you.

Don't let this discourage you. If you remember, you have had a hard winter. Last I checked you can still only be in one place at one time.

I hope that person was saying that with a smile :) I think you are doing great and if it makes you feel better to do more weights....Go For It!!
