I need help. I'm stronger than ever but also fat in the middle, flabby upper thighs, and big arms. I have no idea how to stay strong and also be lean. I know men will say I'm obsessed with the scale but to look fit I need 10 pounds off. when I flex my chest, abs, and legs I'm like dayum gurl but I have extra weight on me and I want it gone. any real advice from people who eat normally and don't eat soup on Friday night is so much appreciated! f*&#. 💃💕😂😎🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛
145.0 lb Lost so far: 5.0 lb.    Still to go: 10.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Listen here, if I'm in the mood for ramen on Friday, I'm eating ramen on Friday. Or tomato soup and grilled cheese. Soup is comfort. 🤤

As for tips... get a kitchen scale and weigh your portions. Is it tedious? Yep. Is it annoying? Absolutely. Does it help though? YES!!! It shows you how much you eat compared to what you SHOULD be eating. Also, weird as it sounds, use smaller dishes; this tricks your brain into thinking there's more food there than there actually is, therefore making you feel fuller. It might also be worth experimenting and seeing which macronutrient ratio works best for your body. Hydration will also stave off hunger; 64 ounces a day is essential! Get a marked water bottle to help you keep track (I have a 32-ounce bottle, so I know it's 2 bottles a day). And if you're looking to tighten up your legs and core, squats, and crunches will work wonders for that. Diet to lose the weight, exercise to tighten and tone. Remember to be gentle on yourself, too! Many people don't know that stress actually causes weight gain. Stress releases a hormone called cortisol into our bodies, which can easily be stored up as fat; make time to practice a little mindfulness (yoga is mindfulness and exercise, so you'd be hitting two birds with one stone) and you'll see pounds slowly melt away. Hope this helps, good luck hitting your goals! ☺️

Supergainz...yeah goddamn I know. My husband was just saying yes it sucks and yes it's not fair to be naturally lean and willowy. I'm so frustrated with being hungry and knowing I have to have a protien shake instead of a sandwich. Fuckin sakes. Cyrus you know what you're talking about too and I'm just at the point I need to focus like a bodybuilder and make it work. A scale is the way to go and I've been avoiding it because I'm scared of the work involved. Thank you both 💓

I feel you, JC! I'm in the same boat, I'd love these last ten pounds gone, and I'm happy with how i look minis my stomach. I've kind of given up because I can't stand feeling hungry when trying to fit in so much exercise. 😔 I wish you luck in your endeavor!

Yeah, as someone with ADHD, believe me... the work ALWAYS intimidates me. But, you can always prep meals ahead for the week as well, and even for the month if you freeze them. My mom's a truck driver and will usually buy disposable plastic containers for the road, that way she's not spending money on ordering out constantly. Idk which ones she got but they're actually a great size for meal portioning. ☺️

I still have flabby thighs - I'm working on them with squats and lunges. It's been a year for me on FS and my body has changed a lot. I'm flexing trying to tone up. I think it is harder to achieve as we age. Hang in there!

I found my best fat loss, not scale loss, with leangains which is calorie and carb cycling. More food some days les food other days. Lots of tracking but I dropped 5% body fat in 12 weeks and it didn’t come back until perimenopause. There’s lots of info on it for free on the web

I was going to ask if you’re weighing and measuring as well. It is tedious and annoying but it works. How bad do you want this? I guess that’s really where it lies. What are you willing to do and are you willing to put in the work? I know you know how and what to do because I’ve seen you as that lean machine. Are you drinking enough water? How was your sleep? How old are you, not edging on menopause are you? There’s so many factors, including do you poop every day? Ha ha ha. Hopefully you’ll find all that you need to do and be able to do it JC. ❤️❤️

I'm no expert but I'm always around if you need help. You can always PM me. You can have sandwiches still with a slight change in bread and choice of meat. I still have one about every day or every other day. We can still have the things we want. We just have to be strategic in doing so.

Jc, I'm right there with you! I am trying to maintain but right now my body is fighting me and it's showing up around my middle and my arms are flabby. I have a nutritionist and I do count macros but lately I'm failing miserably. I DK what your food plan is but make sure you are getting a good amount of protein. It truly helps when trying to build muscle. What is your RDI? Perhaps you need to tweak that a bit. Unfortunately the middle stuff is hard to get rid of through exercise, it's more about what you eat..at least it is for me.

Cheese, Wifey, Joe, thank you!! 🥰 I am so bad at drinking water it's so bad...my husband is always looking at my water bottle like Jen...You're gonna shrivel up! I'm 34 and really the goal isn't to be shredded because that's too much of a commitment, but im on my way to being ripped AF. I'm working really hard on getting bigger legs and just a mean looking muscular body. The 10 pounds is just the lower belly and inner thighs. Basically it's just the old adage "abs are made in the kitchen". I'm focusing on fresh veg and protien. Cheese- how the heck do you get 100g of protein a day? Mostly powder or actual meat?

https://www.muscleandfitness.com/flexonline/flex-nutrition/7-facts-you-need-know-about-hydration/ This is a good read... so as far as water goes. According to where you look. Water makes up anywhere from 70% to 80% of your muscle. So look at it this way. Everytime you drink water you're literally filling your muscles up. More muscle [along with diet/rest/ equals less fat... Just another way of looking at it. I posted a beautiful sandwich for you yesterday. You gotta go find it😋
