SherryeB's Journal, 09 January 2023

I have been waiting til late in the day to log my weight & either run out of time or don't feel in the mood to journal. So maybe a quick one tonight 😊

I finally got to meet with the Physical Therapist last Thursday. We discussed my pain & what was happening with it. She manipulated my arms to see when I felt pain. She said I have good range of motion & I probably have a tendon injury. We did several exercises that I am to do at home each day. I'm incorporating them into my Gym routine. That takes care of 3 days....now I just have to get more motivated to do them the other days. I waited til the end of the day to do them Saturday & Sunday. They don't really take all that long so I should just do them early! She didn't have any available appointments this week but I'm supposed to see her once a week for the next 3 weeks. We'll work on strengthening the arm muscles.

Today was my day with Sammie @ the Gym. All went well with the routine she had planned for me til the end. The Leg curl machine was in use so she asked if I'd ever tried the one laying on my stomach. I finally did 3 reps but it was not comfortable at all. Laying on my stomach hurt my boobs, I got a cramp in my knee when I first tried to lie down & it was WAY more difficult than the Seated one. Not my favorite by far 😬 Thankfully, I did well with the Leg press & everything else so I wasn't totally embarrassed.

I'm slowly working my through getting the Christmas decorations down. I've boxed up all the Santa's, Snowmen, Reindeer, Penguins, etc. Saturday all the ornaments got removed & boxed from the trees. The trees are still there with their lights. There are multiple wreaths & the lighted garland on the mantle & bannister to remove. I'll probably get some of it done tomorrow.

Well, I need to get up to bed. One of my New Year's Goals is to try to have lights out by 1AM at the latest. I need my sleep & it's easy to stay up too late if I get into a book I'm enjoying. Then I sleep in too late the next morning. So....Good night 🌙 😴

Great job on your exercises and PT. I always have a hard time doing the exercises at home when I have gone. You have more discipline than I have!

Good morning! Thank you for journaling. I came to FS this morning to take my mind off my sick yorkie. The older one isn’t eating well and went to the vet yesterday. Bloodwork results not very good. Taking him to a bigger place out of town this evening. Stressful! How old is your yorkie? He will be 11 April 1. The younger one will be 8 on Friday. Glad you are getting your Christmas put away. Hope your pain gets under control soon. Have a great day!:)

CheeseG, based on yesterday I'm pretty sure I couldn't get all set up by myself. It was comical & painful!

NavyWife, I hope you get some answers about your Yorkie ❤ Our Teddie will be 13 this month. We don't know his actual BD. We celebrate his BD the day we adopted him. We were told he was a year old at the time. He has cataracts so doesn't see well, but otherwise is doing pretty good for an old guy. Our Lucy (Bichon/ Schnauzer) just turned 14. She seems to have lost a lot of her hearing after a recent eye/ ear infection.

Thanks ladies for the support on my pain relief. It is manageable most of the time during the day, but can get quite uncomfortable at night. I'm taking meloxicam to help me sleep, but that's a short term fix. I'm hoping to get the issues sorted so I can build up my upper body strength that is not great.
