I had the BEST time with friends last night!!. Eight of us (all vaccinated) got together to celebrate St. Patrick's Day at our friends' house next door. It was the first time in forever we have gathered like this & it felt so good to be able to. We had a yummy meal of Corned beef, carrots, & a mashed potato & cabbage combo....prepared by our hostess, an appetizer of tomatoes stuffed with goat cheese, scones with butter & jam and bread pudding with caramel bourbon sauce. We also enjoyed some adult beverages 😉 Just the simple act of sitting around the table after dinner talking, playing a game to see who knew the most Irish trivia, & listening to some music was wonderful! After the other 2 couples left for home, Hubby & I stayed for awhile to just chat....afterall we only had to go next door to go home. Before we knew it, we realized it was midnight.

Amazingly, my weight was down today 😃

It rained & there were thunderstorms all night as we slept. I was surprised to wake up to sunshine this morning. It's supposed to be almost 70° We should be able to get in a walk....haven't been able, due to rain for 2 days. I'm trying to get motivated to pull some weeds. It's a good time due to the wet ground. I have to admit I'm feeling a bit lazy, though. Sitting outside on the deck....I can hear the river rushing by & the birds are calling off in the distance.

I need to decide what we're having for dinner....

Meeting my sister for lunch tomorrow at a Japanese restaurant close to where she works.
144.4 lb Lost so far: 28.4 lb.    Still to go: 9.4 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Slowly but steadily we will be able to enjoy.the company of others and feel free to give a hug. Odd concept. It has been a long haul, but we are getting there.

Erq, we have been able to eat in restaurants for many months...both inside & out. Hubby & I have taken advantage & I have joined family as well. Most of our friends have chosen to only partake in outside venues. This was the first time in a year I stepped foot inside our friends' house. This is the couple we have gotten together with to sit by the river for a visit....properly distanced. Making a step forward to have an actual dinner party was huge!
