The holiday season is over for most of us. My weight took a bumpy ride during that time but I'm trying to get back on the smooth surface again. I thought I would post this picture of graphs generated by my Fitbit account. It tells a story about my holiday weight journey. I hope it encourages those of us who are on the fence when it comes to logging and tracking. Numbers don't lie...


PS: None of these web sites work perfectly all the time. I don't know why Fitbit has not gotten around to fixing some problems. The dark green line in the top graph represents my calories burned each day. The Light green line represents calories consumed. Notice the days that I did not have a deficit in calories eaten vs. calories burned, I started gaining weight. It also took a few days for my weight to start to go down. You may have also noticed that my "Average Intake" is wrong too. Oh, well...


I love graphs. They give a clear picture of the data we input and our progress or lack of it. Truth in vs. truth out. Keep on loggin'...

Hmm, I like numbers too John...like a bank account our calories in / calories out do tell a story and help track trends (good and bad) as well as predict losses or gains. Like business, often the hardest part is maintaining a healthy spread that works to meet our goals.
