I imagine I gained over the weekend what Information lost on his fast!! LOL!! Another opportunity for me to practice being "at peace" with living in the "range." No worries really, I just got a little "snacky" last night ... I have this week to correct it.

This past weekend went much too quickly. Fortunately I have a 4 day weekend to look forward to ... and I am hoping to get our taxes done along with other things I just have not gotten to lately.

I find myself "dragging" as of late. I am fairly certain that it is stress-related. I have to remind myself that even though "most" of the time I continue to "click along" that I am and have been under a fair amount of stress for a number of months and that it does take its toll on me. Simply being present for my husband ... while he doesn't feel well at all is difficult. This will pass ... there will be a time, sometime, that is less stress filled. And, overall, I cannot believe that I have been able to maintain at this weight. I used to ALWAYS feed my stress with food. Now I just do it occasionally and I am able to cut back for lower days after the stress eating occurs. Amazing. Change for the positive. I choose to focus on that instead of the weekend "gain" today.

Funny story ... I was feeling my bones this weekend. Little did I know there are actually bones in your elbows, shoulders, knees, strange!!! My mid-section is squishy ... most likely due to extra skin that has stretched over the years ... not because I am "fat." I could probably push myself to lose down lower than I am ... but would I end up with scrawny looking limbs and still have a squishy middle? Probably. My mid-section and I need to come to a truce. Of course I'll still do my pilates (which totally works that mid-section) and over time ... who knows ... maybe I won't be as squishy. But in the mean time ... it occured to me that I cannot use my mid-section as a measure of my progress ... instead it is a measure of my journey ... and I am going to work on being kind to it/me.

And so ... because it helps me so much ... five things I am grateful for today ...

1. each day being "new" even though the "same old" things need to be accomplished
2. a few hours in the office this morning to work on reports
3. coffee ... coffee is my friend!!!
4. stopping myself from stressing out over what I did not get accomplished this weekend
5. we are BOTH employed ... many are not these days.

I hope everyone who watched the game yesterday had fun!! Info & jessyline ... I hope your fast was a success!!! MOTG ... I know your "baby" had a fun 5th birthday celebration!! Cynthia ... I hope you back is feeling better!! Amy and all my buddies in the "snowbelt" ... I hope you are staying warm and haven't strained anything shoveling!! Cathy ... I hope you had a restful and rejuvenating weekend relaxing!! Okay ... getting carried away here ... best wishes to all my good buddies here ... I don't know what I would do without all of you!!!
183.4 lb Lost so far: 75.8 lb.    Still to go: 0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Your life is very stressfull - I could name several things that you have going on that would set most people off the dieting edge. You should be so proud of yourself how you have handled everything. You are a warrier!!!!! I don't think I spelled that right, but you get what I mean!!!

Yes I am better, thank you for hoping. Listing the five things were a wonderful idea. I need to try it again, usually I journal in a rush to get to everyone elses jouranls. Pouting, stressing, or even being happy, the list seems to make me smile. It helps to read others too. I hope you are resting and are taking things a day at a time. Your hub is very lucky to have you. :)

Funny how we both gain and lose so quickly while others don't. You may need to consider a fast too! ;-) I think I will do another day today, but don't expect to lose much weight on the scale (all the water is probably gone).

The fact that you're not using food to help cope with stress right now is definitely the thing to focus on. I think part of the reason that I am not happy about my weight loss is that I don't trust it. Any bad days make me think this is all just temporary, and that I'm only a few bad weeks away from where I was. But the fact that you've been hovering around in your range despite everything that's going on is really and truly amazing. It shows that you have truly made this a LIFESTYLE--the thing we are all shooting for.

I have plans for many margaritas y cervesas in April!! LOL!!! But now that you mention it ... perhaps I shall indulge in a cocktail, or 2, or 3 this coming long weekend!! (:

Moose I did have a restful weekend. I definitely need more of those. Now on to the mid section. I don't think we can fix that. I have been trying like crazy and even though I can see muscle underneath the top part is still as you say squishy. I think we just have to accept it. lol and Moose you are doing great. Be proud of yourself! We are!

When I read your words "I used to ALWAYS feed my stress with food," I understand -- that to some extent -- that kind of eating is what I am doing now. To put one foot in front of the other and move through day by day - week by week - month by month is a challenge in itself. When we know for certain that we are in the healthy eating game for life - it is so easy not to get in a hurry about "things." I don't know about you but I seem to be in waiting mode. Waiting for Spring time?

Thank you for asking, my fast went very well, I'm ready to go ofr another one very soon! good news about the long weekend coming. you are definitely amazingly strong and positive, what you do everyday for your husband, and also at your job, and your life choice ( I mean about the house in the woods, far from everything, not everybody can live this way)is incredible. On the top of that, you mastered the "stress-feeding"...WOW! you are my hero!

whoa now campers!!! I do not think I have "mastered" stress eating by far!!! LOL!!! The only difference between "then" and "now" is that I don't stress eat ALL OF THE TIME!!! Yesterday was a good example ... lots of stuff I ate I did not put on my food journal ... banana bread for one!!! But thank you for all the kind words ... those I do appreciate very much!!!
