erikahollister's Journal, 12 December 2016

I ran across this description of a successful keto weight-loser. It's from a promo for a program, but that's not my point. It is a good description for anyone who choses the keto way.

It's not easy, but it works. However, we also know it’s not for everyone. Clients who have succeeded on this program have the following in common:

They were serious about losing their extra weight or reaching a health goal (i.e., normal blood sugar).
They were willing to work and willing to learn. They didn’t waste time making excuses or trying to get around the plan.
They weren't afraid to give up old habits and create new ones.
They were willing to use a food scale and weigh out foods in raw form.
They were willing to prepare and cook the meals they planned with My Keto Plan.
They didn't mind repeating meals if it made it easier to stay on plan.
They were willing to read the provided guides to avoid mistakes and prepare for common challenges.
They were willing to succeed—no matter what.

This applies whether you are doing this plan or Atkins or dietdoctor.com or your own version. Keto dieters need to get on program and stay there, because waffling loses the effect of ketosis. Of course, I know this from my own mistakes and straying.

Have a great week, buddies!

I would add that the most successful Keto dieters have more than a few pounds to lose. If a person is playing footsie with the "freshman twenty", "baby fat", or a "beer gut", probably better to find an alternate strategy. I don't have the patience to have to persuade anyone, "here it is, take it or bugger off".

My 30lbs are important for me to lose..I'm doing it for health issues more importantly. You can't say someone's little bit of weight means little or playing footsies. I disagree with your comment @Phil. Keto works well for all dieters.

Maybe we could say that keto takes commitment, no matter how much you have to lose. It needs to be important to you.

I would edit your comment, CC to say, "Keto works well for all dieters that are willing to be 100% committed."

Yes, that is absolutely right! Thank you Phil and Erika!
