I seem to be relaxing Beast Mode a bit on weekends, by eating in a wider window. I have been staying in ketosis and eating very low carbs and high fat/moderate protein. The weight is coming off slow but steady. No cheating is the key. Beast Mode is easier for me when I'm at work, because I pack my programmed liquids for the day and just don't eat anything else until I'm home in the late afternoon. Then I get my 4 hour window to snack and have dinner. It works for me. I'm hoping that next weekend's weigh in will have me in Onderland. I've been sorting through years of accumulated junk in my shed and on my porch to get ready for the tradesmen who are coming to do some work on our house. This week we're installing a nice old wood stove that we haven't used for 27 years. We kept it and I'm so happy that we will have a real hearth in the house again. The windows haven't arrive yet, so the stove will be more like an outdoor firepit until the porch gets enclosed. Backwards order of things, but ah well! Have a Onederful week everyone! Hope y'all win at losing!

I meant to say that all that lugging of stuff added up to hours of labor each day of this three day weekend - good for burning calories!

Great work Erika! Good luck in breaking under that 200 plateau. I am curious what state you live in. Best of luck with it all.

Warren, I'm from the one state that didn't go down to Nixon in '72. Do you remember? It was my first vote and I was incredulous then, as I am now.

But I'm a native of California. I was born in Santa Monica; we lived in Malibu until I was 8. I lived in Long Beach for a year - actually Naples, before we moved East. My dad was a community organizer- worked in Watts in the early sixties, then for Johnson's Office of Economic Opportunity in DC. Had to change careers after Nixon was elected and all the money to help the poor rise up out of poverty was shut down. We've been through some of this before, right?

Erika, staying in the two hour eating window is the hardest for me on Sunday. I usually go to church at 12:00 but have a hard time getting all the way to 1:30 or 2:00 without something so I do the coffee with cream early and then eat when I get home. Sunday seems to just stretch. The rest of the week, I've been pretty good with the 2 hrs. even though I didn't think that would work. If I put that first meal off long enough and just have the mineral water early, it seems to work. I'm pulling for you to get below 200 this week!

I'm definitely with you that Beast Mode is HARD on the weekends. Even when I'm really busy. Keep it up! You're doing great.

Please explain beast mode to me. I'm sorry I've been out of the loop for a little while.

Beast Mode is an intermittent fasting challenge. It involves eating during just one shortened eating window per day. I do fat fasting during the day and eat snack and dinner between 4-7, so a 21 hr. daily fast. Others do a water fast. You can check out the challenge. We just finished week 3 of 4.
