I've started gaining again and the best I can come up with is that I was drinking too man diet sodas. So I need to break that habit now. They're so much easier for to drink at work. But, I became so disappointed in myself because I'd once again got down to 225 and then started gaining again. I'm hoping that the diet soda is the problem and I can now get below 225. We'll see.

I take canned flavored seltzer water to work. It gives me the fizz I like and is portable. You might want to try this if you haven't already. I used to be a Coke Zero fiend and now that I don't drink it, the seltzers, which I used to drink before also, now seem to have a more pronounced flavor and I don't miss the sweetness. My favorites are cranberry lime, raspberry lime, lemon, lime, and cherry. We have a local brand called Polar that is very inexpensive, but I have also had basic store brands as well but sometimes it is harder to find the cans in the grocery, they just have the 2 liter bottles.

Thank you, I will have to try that. I've never drank seltzer water before so I'll have to search the stores for it and give it a try.

The best thing I ever did for myself was quit all sodas. Now I have unsweetened ice tea with dinners if I need something other than water. If you need some bubbles add some sparkling water to your tea!

I was a soda, then diet coke drinker for years. I had to have one near to sip on. It was like a 24/7 thing for me. My GD, who is in high school and plays basketball was a soda drinker also. She decided 2 years ago the sugar in them was not helping her, so she gave the soda and sugar up. Her mom was a diet soda drinker, worked from home, so she had a diet drink in her hand most of the day also. She decided if her daughter could do it, she could. She did and has not had one in about a year. I jumped on the band wagon last August and was surprised that each day got easier and finally now to the point that I don't even think about it when out in the store shopping.(I always stocked up on the coke if it was on sale) I can't say it helped my daughter lose weight or myself, but I will say I think it has helped my salty, crunchy cravings for cheese crackers and things like that. Lastly, l did have to find alternatives for beverage and mostly do unsweetened ice tea and on occasion plain sparkling water. I add/infuse lemon or lime slice if I have it to the tea and both sparkling and plain ice water. I have not tried, but heard if you have an infusion pitcher combo's of cucumber, mint or basil can be refreshing, as well as hydrating.

I find that flavored seltzer waters are a great option. I have also learned to like herbal teas too. I drink them hot or cold. Liking plain water is a goal for me, but I am not there yet. Sometimes just floating a lemon or orange slice in water is enough for me. I find that drinks with artificial sweetener seems to retain water and that affects my weight fluctuation. Supporting your every effort to make necessary changes and gain better health.

Had a dr. Tell me once how badly soda pop can affect your weight. He said he had a patient who lost 20 pounds when she quit drinking pop. That was at a time in my life when I was drinking a 12 pack of diet Pepsi a day, now I only drink bottled water. Must be pure clean water for my kidneys
