I am grumpy today. I've fallen behind in things I need to do at home, my arm itches and burns like crazy from being stung yesterday, I ate too much, the scale was up (duh), I just feel generally irritable. UGH. I wish I could just go back home and go to bed and sleep off this funk. But, alas ... duty calls.

If anyone needs to focus on what she is grateful for it is me. So here goes ... perhaps this will shift my funk ...

- although my weight is "up" it is still in my range of maintenance
- given the number of bees/wasps still active I'm fortunate I only got stung one time!
- I have the power to change how I feel
- coffee is brewing!!
- these grumpy, funky feelings will pass ... they are only temporary

May you have a less grumpy, funky day than I!!!

Awwww I hope the funky feeling goes away PRONTO! Good idea listing what you are grateful for when you are feeling down. Turn it around and have a WONDERFUL day, no matter what!!! :-)

lol, aw ONLY you can change your mood, I am glad you know you are in control, sometimes we just all have those moods -and no explanations to boot! I'd blame that gain on the swelling from the shhhtupid wasp, not your eating LOL!!! hope you end up having a wonderful day!

Hope you managed to kick the grumps and the funk into touch :)

I think it is mostly the arm that is driving me CRAZY!!! Oh my goodness it itches like you can't believe ... and is red and hot to the touch to boot. I would take some benadryl but I would fall asleep and I can't do that at work.

Do you have any claritin or zyrtec? They should help too and won't make you sleepy? Or hydrocortisone cream would help if you have any of that. Sorry about the sting and the funky mood. You will be back to yourself I'll bet as soon as your arm feels better.

Put a tea bag (after you have used it) on the sting-the tannins will help shrink the histamine response and with the itch...take a deep breath, hug yourself for me and breath! :) Better?? I hope so! Hope the rest of your day is wonderful!

Thanks Erika and Dawn. I did run out and bought some cream. Unfortunately I didn't read your post until after I got back from the store or I would have bought some claritin or zyrtec. Oh well ... I can tough it out a little while longer. The tea bag is a great idea too ... I didn't know about that. It has been a long time since I've been stung ... I always have a pretty intense response. Same thing with mosquito and spider bites too. The funk will pass ... of that I am certain ... breathing is a very good idea!!!

I have had bee stings - they are endless (almost)! Almost as bad as poison ivy.

Home now with Benadryl in my system. The arm looks horrid ... red from the sting (near my armpit) all the way down to my elbow. I'm hoping this is the worst of it and tomorrow will be a less "itchy" day!!

Hope you are feeling better. I always try to remember that the bees are far more helpful than hurtful...but that does seem hard after one of those little suckers gets you. I have the same relationship with spiders.

Sorry about your bee sting! That would make anyone grouchy. I hope you feel better soon.

Ouch! Take care of that nasty sting! Your body retains fluid to heal that sting and the soreness from chopping wood has your numbers up. I relate to the "Monday Grumpies." My students caught that "bug" too.

A short and sweet post. (my favorite kind ;-) ). I especially like today's five point focus on what we have to be grateful for. You seem to be getting better and better at that. Take care moose...
